With a spacious warming living and dining area, fully-equipped kitchen, comfortable bedroom and stylish bathroom, the characterful and dog friendly Acorn Cottage has ample space for two.

The Space:
You’ll find stylish interiors throughout Acorn Cottage. With premium furniture and plush soft furnishings, along with many original features, it is a luxurious yet homely place to stay in the heart of Guisborough.

The open plan living and dining area is the perfect spot to unwind. Relax on the comfy sofa and watch the flat screen TV after enjoying home cooked meals at the dining table. In the winter months, fire up the log burner for a cosy night in.

Fully-equipped for self catering stays, the kitchen boasts an oven, hob, microwave, fridge-freezer, kettle, toaster, dishwasher and all the cookware you could need.

The bedroom features a comfortable king size bed and cosy tranquil tones of grey. The space is complete with bedside tables, lamps and soft furnishings.

Acorn Cottage has a stylish and clean bathroom. Take a soak in the freestanding bathtub or start your day with a refreshing shower. A wash basin, WC and mirror complete the look.

Head outside and you’ll find a beautiful south facing private yard which is a real sun trap. With seating for two and a small coffee table, a gas barbecue and modern chiminea, every care has been taken to ensure you really can enjoy your stay at Acorn Cottage. Dressed with plants and herbs for a splash of greenery and colour, this is a relaxing setting to enjoy a morning cuppa or some evening relaxation. You can also make use of the outside tap and hose which are provided if you’re bringing mucky pups home with you after a walk in Guisborough Forest or in the North York Moors National Park. Bike storage is also available here.

Host & Stay are committed to our owners that their homes are protected during bookings. For this reason, we require all of our guests to transfer a £250.00 Damage Deposit (subject to a £10.00 administration charge) or, to purchase an Accidental Damage Waiver for £25.00 which will cover you for up to £500.00 of accidental damage during your stay.

Guest Access:
Guests have access to the full property. The keys to Acorn Cottage are accessed via a secure key safe and full details will be provided shortly before your arrival date.

Free on-street parking is available nearby on a first come, first served basis.

One well behaved dog is welcome to stay at Acorn Cottage per reservation.

The Neighborhood:
The market town of Guisborough is located on the edge of North York Moors National Park so you have plenty of walking routes to explore. In the centre of the town, you’ll find a charming, cobbled high street which is lined with shops, cafes and pubs. Visit the English Heritage site of Gisborough Priory which dates back to the 12th century. Here you’ll find the dramatic skeleton of the 14th century church's east and outstanding Gothic architecture.

Less than 10 minutes away by car you’ll reach Great Ayton. This idyllic village is perched on the banks of the River Leven and was once known for its industries in linen making, tanning, brewing and mining. Today it is a quaint and pretty place to visit. Enjoy an afternoon stroll and enjoy an ice-cream from Suggits, the traditional sweet shop which is a firm favourite with the locals.

Head to the coast and enjoy the beautiful beaches of Saltburn, Marske and Whitby.

Getting Around:
Acorn Cottage is within 15 minutes’ drive time of Saltburn, Great Ayton and Stokesley. Coastal towns and villages like Whitby, Sansend and Staithes can be reached within 30 minutes by car.

Nunthorpe Train Station is a short 15-minute drive from the cottage with routes to Middlesbrough and connecting trains to Darlington, Newcastle, York, Leeds, Manchester and London.

There are plenty of bus routes throughout Guisborough. Hop on the Arriva X93 which travels from Middlesbrough through to Scarborough, with stops in Whitby and Robin Hood’s Bay along the way. Join the M3 bus route to explore the Moors with stops in Danby, Hutton Le Hole, Kirkbymoorside and Helmsley.
