Klima is a village at the western end of the prefecture of Heraklion, at an altitude of 140 m. The inhabitants of Klima are mainly engaged in the cultivation of olives and early morning vegetables, as well as in animal husbandry. Its distance from Heraklion is 70 km. During the period of the Venetian occupation, it belonged to the prefecture of Rethymnon. It is mentioned in 1583 in Kastrophylakas as Clima di Amari with 52 inhabitants. Earlier, in 1577, it is also mentioned by Barotsi. It used to belong to the province of Pyrgiotissa.
