Traditional Irish cottage in Aghadoe with Stunning Views

Isabelle Cottage is a traditional Irish cottage a five-minute drive from the vibrant town of Killarney. It is situated just off the Ring of Kerry with stunning views over the mountains and lakes. The cottage is located in the beautiful area of Aghadoe. The Gap of Dunloe can be seen from the cottage. One of Ireland's most popular restaurants is at the bottom of the road and there are many superb restaurants in Killarney. Killarney Brewery is also very close and this has an excellent restaurant.

The house is an ideal base for exploring the local area including the Ring of Kerry, Dingle peninsula, Cork, Kenmare amongst many others.

The house is comfortable with a bedroom with en-suite, living room with log burner, kitchen and downstairs toilet. Upstairs are two double bedrooms and a bathroom with shower. There is a TV with Sky free channels and wi-fi. There is ample off-street parking.

Had a lovely stay in Isabelle Cottage. Much more spacious than you'd think and there were some lovely touches to accommodate our incredibly demanding kids. Had a few minor issues during our stay that were immediately addressed by the host, so top notch service. Would happily recommend as a base for exploring Kerry and beyond!

Wonderful accommodation in a beautiful place

Dear Mary! Thank you very much for letting us live for one week in your cozy little cottage. We enjoyed our stay very much; everything worked well, the house was fully equipped, neat and clean, and most of all an absolutely charming place. Your cottage what exactly what we had in mind when we tried to book a typical rural Irish home. Family visit

The cottage was perfect for us with location great to travel in Kerry and for us particularly between Killarney and Killorglin. The house has all amenities you would need for a stay. The host was receptive getting back to you right away if needed. One thing to be aware of when someone using the upstairs shower not to run water elsewhere in house. We had a great time and I would stay again.

A little tired in need of update

The cottage is in a lovely area but seemed tired and needed some better quality bedlinen , carpet etc . It appeared when we arrived not to have been aired . The electrics need to be checked as there were a lot of extension leads to heaters etc and a spark when you switched the water on upstairs . We did not see any working smoke alarms . We were a little disappointed with the standard for the price and have stayed in many beautiful houses that cost far less . That said it was very handy for a beautiful area , had everything in the kitchen etc and the lady was very good at responding to text etc .

Additionally, the bedlinen was new for 2024, ensuring that our guests enjoy fresh and high-quality bedding during their stay. Regarding the mustiness upon arrival, we utilise a professional cleaner and launderette service, and the cottage was cleaned shortly before your check-in. However, we apologize if it did not meet your expectations in terms of freshness. Your feedback has prompted us to review our airing procedures to ensure this issue is minimised in the future. Regarding the electrical concerns, we want to assure you that the property has a current and valid electrical safety certificate. We were unaware of the spark issue, as it was not reported to us during your stay. Had we been informed, we would have promptly arranged for an electrician to address the issue and put your mind at ease. We take safety very seriously, and your comments about the lack of visible smoke alarms have been noted. We will ensure that all safety equipment is in an obvious place and fully functional. Ideal for exploring Killarney and surrounding area

Booking process easy if you have the app. Cottage is rural so a very good nights sleep. You do need a car . All was clean and neat and milk and tea were waiting. There is no bath but we knew that from the description. The occupants of the second bedroom upstairs have to walk through the main bedroom to reach the bathroom . Not a bother for us but could be awkward if you don’t know each other well! There is a downstairs loo as well. Cottage was well equipped to self cater. Good quality bedding. Off road parking. Ideal for exploring the local sights by car. The cottage is old so expect steep stairs and some low headroom . Floors are uneven but that’s the sort of thing to be expected in old buildings. Lovely view. The host checked to see if we were ok on arrival and was helpful in adjusting checkout time to fit in with flights. Our thanks for that.

Gemütlich und Gastfreundlich

Mary hat sich sehr bemüht, uns vor Anreise unaufgefordert mit allen benötigten Informationen zu versorgen - so war unsere Anreise entspannt und sicher. Das Cottage liegt gegenüber einem anderen Haus an der Straße. Die Straße ist nur wenig befahren, so dass insgesamt die Lage sehr ruhig ist. Das Cottage ist super gemütlich und mit drei Bädern/WC´s hervorragend, wenn man mit zwei Teenagern unterwegs ist. Die Küche ist vollständig ausgestattet, so dass wir nach Herzenslust kochen und Frühstück vorbereiten konnten. Für uns sind Matratzen immer sehr wichtig: diese hier waren sehr weich. Wir selbst schlafen lieber auf festeren Matratzen. Dennoch haben wir gut schlafen können. Auf meine Frage nach einem Fön, war Mary sofort bereit, mir die Aufwendungen hierfür zu erstatten - nun hat das Cottage auch dauerhaft einen Fön :) Ganz vielen Dank nochmal für die schnelle Lösung. Leider ist der Heißwasserschlauch in der Dusche am letzten Abend geplatzt und meine Tochter hat sich verbrüht. Am gleichen Abend wurde dieser noch umgehend ersetzt. Auch hier war die Kommunikation sehr schnell. Hat uns nur leider den letzten Abend genommen. Insgesamt war unser Aufenthalt sehr gelungen und wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt.
