About this property

Cosy cottage in peaceful rural retreat

Lime Tree is a one-bedroom Gîte, attached to the farmhouse and was originally run as an apple press for the area. The garage doors from the roadside were originally built up to allow a horse and cart to pull alongside and unload fruit straight into the building and the attached rooms were originally the workshop. The press is still in situ although it hasn’t worked in many years. The Gite has a modern feeling with an open plan kitchen, dining and sitting room, separate bedroom and bathroom and overlooks farmland towards the East benefiting from the early morning sunshine.

Set in the North Dordogne region of the stunning Périgord Vert National Park, Havre de Paix Gites offer space to simply relax and enjoy lazing by the pool or gazing at the stars & scenery from the private wood fired hot tub (Hot Tub incurs extra charge payable at property)

Peaceful yet perfectly located within easy reach of many places of interest, we are in the ideal spot for you to have the best of both worlds making your holiday exactly what you want it to be.

About the host

Hosted by Sarah Sweeting

Host profile image
Sarah & my husband Mick Sweeting are from England and bought Havre De Paix Gites in July 2022. So we are pretty new to the area but have fallen in love with it. Mick, previously a landscape gardener & fireman, his love of gardening is clear to see from our gorgeous grounds & vegetables patches. Sarah was a chef in UK and now runs a busy little cafe only 15 minutes from the Gites.

Why they chose this property

Périgord Vert lies to the north of the Dordogne, it boasts rivers and valleys, waterfalls and lakes, hiking and biking trails, vineyards and châteaux. Given its climate and lush landscapes, Périgord Vert is a fantastic area for outdoor lifestyles, nature enthusiasts and anyone interested in ecological living and green tourism. Its landscapes are sprinkled with picture-perfect villages, lazy rivers, vineyards and dense woodlands filled with deer, boar and birds of prey. It’s renowned as being unspoilt, reminiscent of Scotland – but with far better weather!

What makes this property unique
