Great spot

This is a great place to stay in a wonderful family owned and used home. This is not a bare bones rental house. Great fireplace, excellent sealed doors and no drafts. Completely fit the bill for 13 of us. Would stay here again.

Thank you for your review. We want to respond clearly and factually for the benefit of future guests. When concerns were raised at the very start of your stay, we offered your party an immediate and unconditional full refund and invited you to leave. You declined, and chose to remain at La Pause Musicale for the full week. Readers should be aware of that. We should also note that this review was explicitly threatened as leverage to obtain a refund after departure, which we did not provide. We regret that a guest would feel that appropriate, and we leave readers to draw their own conclusions. Regarding the harlequin ladybirds: these are a well-documented seasonal insect that overwinters in old stone buildings throughout much of Europe. Their presence in one room of the house is not a reflection of cleanliness or maintenance and is beyond any owner’s control. The suggestion that the property was broadly infested is not accurate. La Pause Musicale is a beautifully furnished historic property, maintained to a high standard and presented with care — including a full day of professional cleaning prior to arrival. Our maintenance person visited daily throughout the stay. We have never received a complaint about cleanliness in our years managing the property, and our wider guest reviews reflect that consistently. We are sorry the stay did not meet your expectations. We do not, however, recognize the property as it is described here, and we stand behind it without reservation.
