Within a few minutes' walk, you can reach the main square, overlooking the magnificent sea of the coast and leading to the lava stone castle. This unique ancient fortress offers a breathtaking view of the sea and boasts a rich history, documented in a book available to guests in the apartment. On the square, you'll find bars, pizzerias, and restaurants serving typical local dishes. During summer, breakfast with granita and brioche is recommended!
Continuing from the square, you'll reach the small village port, still used by fishermen. Continuing further, you'll arrive at the seafront, overlooking the stacks: three imposing lava stone masses in the sea, linked to the legend of the giant Polyphemus, who is said to have hurled them to stop the fleeing Odysseus. These places are rich in legends, like the story of the shepherd Aci, transformed into a river for love, explaining why many towns along the coast begin with "Aci" (Acicastello, Acitrezza, Acireale, Acicatena, AciSanFilippo, Acireale).
In the village streets, you'll find places to enjoy wine, sweets, or buy fresh fish. The area offers services such as supermarkets, post office, banks, pharmacy, hairdresser, and beauty centers. A city bus connects the village to Catania, while an intercity network connects it to Acireale.
