A higgledypiggledy garden flat in a Victorian house built in the 1840s. Perfect for a couple or solo traveller, it has a cosy cottagey feel with eclectic decor. The shady spot means its cool in the Summer but central heating and a wood-burning stove make it toastie for winter retreats. It is a short walk to the town centre via a steep hill or the 99 steps through the Rose Gardens. It's a magical place in the clouds, in the middle of the Malvern Hills, located on a quiet single track road. The space Wooden and slate floors and lots of original features make this a real-character property. Bring your slippers as slate floors can be cold. The deep slipper bath requires a bit of agility to get into but is a super luxurious experience after a long walk. Open the stable door whilst cooking dinner and connect with the outdoors, gaze through the velux ceiling window at the stars while you enjoy a lie in under the down duvet. Switch on the electric blanket for extra cosiness. Guest access You'll have the entire flat to yourselves which you will access by a key safe. Other things to note The bath is a slipper bath which is like sitting in an armchair, it has a shower above it, you'll need to be a bit nimble to climb in as the sides are high, but it's worth it if you fancy an extra luxurious soak. There is free on-street parking outside the house. Great Malvern is full of restaurants, cafes, bars and independent shops, it has a huge theatre with a cinema screen. You are a short walk into town, high on the hill you have amazing views and there are stunning walks on the doorstep.

About the host

I am an artist, I'm just completing my Masters in contemporary craft. You'll find the decor in the Haven reflects this. I have worked in the arts all my life, I love to travel and have lived in many different towns in the UK. I work freelance and often at home so I'm around if you need anything. I live just down the road with my huge Romanian rescue cat Hercules and my Greek partner. I love welcoming people to the Haven, it's great to be able to share such a magical place with people and the income enables me to continue to do what I love which is rarely well paid but I love it.
Why they chose this property
The hills have to be top of the list, they are stunning, the colours change with the seasons which I'll never tire of. Malvern is full of hidden alleyways, beautiful walks, stunning architecture. There is lots going on if you know where to look. There are so many restaurants to chose from. We are also a short train journey or drive from Ledbury which is well worth a visit, with it's lovely independent shops and Worcester. Eastnor Castle is a stunning place to visit if you have a car or can travel by bus. I love this quirky little town, it's a real hidden gem.
What makes this property unique
The Haven is full of furniture and ornaments that belonged to my mum and grandmother, along with things I've collected on my travels. It even has a couple of pieces of taxidermy that I made a while back. It's such a peaceful cosy place. I lived in it for five years before moving in with my partner, my favourite thing was to lie and look at the sky through the skylight in the bedroom. It's so safe, you can walk home after an evening in the town and not have to worry about anything. The tales of Narnia were inspired by this place and Tumnus's lampost is just round the corner on the path up to St Annes Well. You'll find a couple of super gnarly trees on the way too which are my favourite. It is a magical place in all seasons.
