About the host
Hosted by Joanne Nicholson
As a military family time spent together is precious. Ten years ago we were fortunate to rent Marina Cottage whilst my husband served at a local RAF base. It provided an idyllic existence for our children, making dens and building campfires in the magical woodland surrounding Marina Cottage. Open the front door and off the children would go to crab fish and skim stones on beach. This traditional waterfront village has a wonderful local pub which is the heart of the village, offering great food and even has a Santa's Grotto at Christmas.
Unfortunately all good military tours come to end and we were posted away from the area. Some 10 years later we approached the owner who agreed to sell this piece of paradise to us. After a protracted purchase we are now the proud owners. Marina cottage is part of our family, we are custodians of the ancient woodland that surround this cottage and hope you feel welcome in this very special place.
