Casale Al Sasso is an elegant country mansion made of stones which lies in short distance to the centre of Lucca. It was renovated by maintaining the Tuscan traditions – it is a single house with private in-ground swimming pool (salted water, 10 x 4.5m, depth: 1.30m) on request heated pool (i.e. pool can be used during cooler months, approximative calculated cost: electricity from about Euro 450.00 - Euro 700.00/week), spacious garden, set in terraces with olive trees and a variety of other plants. The property disposes of a covered veranda with outdoor area, stunning views onto the nearby hills and is surrounded by silence and the sound of nature.
Drive off the historical centre of Lucca, only a few minutes by car – leave the hustle and bustle behind you and drive up the smooth hill. You may discover an expected landscape – this wonderful estate is located on a privileged spot.
The centre of Lucca is easily reachable; the position of the Casale is ideal for strolls, hiking or mountain-bike tours. The mountains around Pisa and the city of Pisa is only a stone’s throw away – the motorway access for Florence or the seaside lies also only a few minutes away.
This beautiful stone mansion is part of a biological farm – high quality olive oil and wine is being produced; these products as also a special pork meat (“Cinta Senese DOP”) can be bought on the spot.
The estate was renovated and converted into an oasis of freedom – exclusivity and peace – it is possible here, to recapture the relationship with nature and its rhythm. There are various possibilities for all those who want to connect nature and peace with the sea, excursions to art cities, churches, museums, outdoor sports or wine/food tourism.
The surroundings offers their visitors a unique panorama – olive groves, wine groves, woods change with cultivation fields. The well-known beaches of Forte dei Marmi and the Versilia grant relaxation and spectacle for sea lovers. This is a famous spot of Italy, to visit vineyards and taste delicious wines or get to know the millenarian tradition of cold-pressed olive oil production. Guests may choose from a big variety of thematic excursions – as for example historic small hamlets with a big amount of history or nature parks. The Garfagnana with the Serchio valley and the mountain “Abetone” is also a visit worth or just discover the marble quarries of Carrara.
The richness of the flora and fauna give the surroundings a special charm and show Tuscan nature to the top. While hiking or biking you may spot animals like foxes, hares, wild boars, deers, ducks or wild ducks.

Stairs to the 1st floor (also ground floor level, as the grounds are set in terraces): 1 spacious living room with 2 couches and upholstered chairs, oven (pellets), dining table, SAT-TV, WiFi, highchair, exit onto the veranda and the pool area. Exit onto a big outdoor area, equipped with table, chairs, sun-umbrella for your dining al fresco, main kitchen with stove, small table and stools, electric oven, American styled fridge/freezer, dishwasher, filter coffee brewer, microwave, 1 bathroom with basin, bidet, wc.
Stairs to the 2nd floor (closed with a security gate for kids): 1 double bedroom with 1 single bed settee, windows with wonderful views, 1 bathroom with shower, wc, bidet, 1 walk-through single bedroom with big window doors (which can be darkened) and views onto the garden and olive grove, from here access to the backside of the garden, within this single bedroom access to 1 another double bedroom.
From the salon on the 1st floor within a window door exit onto an outdoor area with a table and sofa (wicker), 4 sunbeds (wicker), direct access to the pool area.
Well-cared and elegant country style furnishings with “Provençal” elements, pastel colours and romantic details in “shabby” style. There is also a washing machine. The water in the house is purified and therefore drinkable.
The spacious garden offers various relaxing areas, equipped with a table, chairs. Parking within the grounds.
Airconditioning in the house, there is a fan in the single bedroom, as there is no a/c in this bedroom. The beautiful swimming pool can be used also during cooler months as it can be heated (till 29 degrees).
