About this property

Historic family home with stunning views of Loch Lochy and private beach

Stay in the heart of the Highlands at Invergloy House, a beautifully situated converted coach house and stables of an impressive estate established in the late 1800s, overlooking Loch Lochy.

Invergloy estate once stretched across 6,000 acres from the shores of Loch Lochy eastwards, to the upper reaches of Glen Gloy.

Over the years, the Invergloy estate has reduced in size and now comprises 50 acres of beautiful specimen trees, rhododendrons and azaleas. The estate also has loch side walks and roe deer living in the wild.

Invergloy House is a wonderful choice for a couple, a family or a group of friends. The house sleeps 10 people, and has received several upgrades, including wifi throughout the house and digital TV.

Invergloy House has five bedrooms, including three double bedrooms  (two of which are en suite), an en suite family bedroom (sleeping 3), plus one single bedroom. The kitchen is equipped with a coffee machine, and guests can also enjoy the use of an oven, stove, refrigerator, dishwasher and washing machine. Parking is free.

Invergloy House is particularly attractive to tree lovers, as it is located right next to a particularly majestic Sequoia tree measuring approximately 170 feet. The garden also has lovely Douglas firs and Lawson cypress trees. Thanks to its proximity to the A82, Invergloy House is ideal for car tours of nearby forests and lochs.

Guests have access to the entire house and grounds. Children should be supervised at all times while outside due to uneven ground.

Invergloy House is conveniently located near many sites of stunning local scenery, including Loch Ness, Ben Nevis, and the Commando Memorial. The area is a paradise for walkers, cyclists, climbers and skiers - the surrounding Munros are calling you! Nevis Range cycling and ski resort is only a 15-minute drive away, while Glencoe ski resort is about an hour's drive away.

If you're looking for good eats and coffee, the village of Spean Bridge is home to the Woollen Mill Cafe, and Fort William has numerous attractions, including cafes, restaurants, a cinema, the Highland Book Store and the West Highland Museum.

The region is also replete with historical landmarks, including the Old Inverlochy Castle, the magnificent system of canal locks known as Neptune's Staircase, and the Jacobite Steam Train.

Great to meet you! We're Douglas and Sophie. Douglas grew up at Invergloy House in the beautiful Scottish Highlands, while I am originally from Hong Kong. We both love Scotland, and enjoy kayaking, cycling, skiing, languages and looking after animals.

What makes this property unique

Invergloy House is a warm and welcoming family home with a lot of history. As soon as you come through the handsome iron gates (decorated with Scottish stags), the winding track takes you into a world of beautiful tall trees and foliage, before opening out onto absolutely gorgeous views of the mountains and Loch Lochy. Nature lovers are in for a real treat - apart from access to a private beach onto Loch Lochy, Invergloy is also home to several bird species and the occasional roaming deer or pheasants! We love Invergloy House, with all its mystery and sheer beauty, and hope you will too!
