Welcome to Lochaber Lodges, a development of luxury self-catering lodges to rent in the heart of the Highlands of Scotland. Our family run site offers you all the personal touches for a great getaway in a stunning location, with the assurance of Visit Scotland 4 star accreditation. We are situated 7 miles from Fort William on the banks of the Caledonian Canal with uninterrupted views over Anoach Mor and Ben Nevis. Whether you are looking for a tranquil and relaxing break, or a base to experience the Outdoor Capital of the UK- this is the ideal location.

Our lodges are equipped to exceptional standards for year round occupancy, with double-glazing and central heating for the colder winter months, and external decking to enjoy the benefits of the long daylight hours in the summer.

Great location to use as a base to explore the Highlands. We did a daytrip to the Isle of Skye, a day to tour the length of Loch Ness, Urquhart Castle, and Inverness. We also visited the Cairngorm Mountain Railway and Neptune's Staircase on the Caledonian Canal.

Awesome property and location

The location of the property was amazing. We loved staying there especially the kids. There are few things missing like iron,salt and suger etc. But otherwise it was a good stay

Month long stay

We had a really nice time staying at the lodge during January. The location was great for hill walking and sightseeing in the surrounding area and the lodge was very cosy and peaceful with amazing views of the mountains. The hosts were extremely helpful and friendly. We are especially grateful for all their help during the snowy weather.

Breathtaking view, lovely farm

My family’s first stay in Lochaber, couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful location. Gorgeous view of the Nevis range from outside my bedroom window. Dinner on the patio with view of Ben Nevis and sheep and cow on the fields all around us. We spotted a few boats going up the Caledonian canal nearby. Perfect place for peaceful retreat in natural beauty.

Good Lodge but a little cramped

The lodge itself was clean and reasonable comfortable but was fairly cramped with small beds and a lack of basic stuff e.g. only 5 plates even though it was a lodge for 6 and little to no cutlery. The location is good if you want to be away from main roads but the single track road takes about 10-15mins to get to a main road.

Nice accomodation in a remote place

Lochaber lodge was a nice accomodation in the Scottish Highlands. It was not very spacious for 5 people, but well equipped with everything we needed, tidy and clean. We had a pleasant stay and used the lodge as a starting place to the area. The place was a little bit isolated, it was an about 30 min drive to the next supermarket (or other store at all) to buy some food. So, a car is mandatory to have in place.

A few more supplies would help.

The property is nicely situated, but a long drive on a single track road to get there. The beds are quite small. There was a big kitchen but there was only a bare minimum off utensils. No theecloth or dishcloth. Difficult to clean up. They want you to seperate your glass, paper etc . But they don't provide bags to do it. There was nobody at the reception the times we were there.

Wir haben hier 10 Tage mit 2 Personen während eines Motorradurlaubs verbracht. Sehr gute Kommunikation mit den Vermietern. Uns wurde auch außerhalb der Vermietung bei einem Problem gerne geholfen. Das Haus ist einfach, sehr sauber und gut eingerichtet. Die Schlafzimmer mit den Einzelbetten sind etwas eng. Sehr ruhige Lage an einer Single Track Road, aber gut erreichbar. Sehr gute Einkaufsmöglichkeiten in Fort William etwa 13 Kilometer entfernt. Bei der Rezeption gibt es Waschmaschinen und Trockner, Waschmittel ist vorhanden. Meiner Meinungt nach eine sehr empfehlenswerte Unterkunft.

Schönes Häuschen in sehr ruhiger Umgebung

Ganz toller Urlaub! Blick auf die Berge und den Kanal. Wunderschön!!!

Die Vermieter sind sehr nett und helfen, wo sie können. 1 Stern Abzug nur dafür, dass die Betten sehr schmal sind, womit nicht jeder klar kommt. Aber trotzdem wurde noch alles für unsere vollste Zufriedenheit getan. Auch ein Hirsch und Hirschkühe kamen ganz früh bis an die Bungalows. Toll!!! Kann man nur jedem Naturliebhaber empfehlen!

Großzügiger Wohn- Essbereich, schöner Balkon mit Sitzmöbeln. Die Schlafzimmer sind recht eng. Küchenausstattung ist okay, könnte bei dem Preis jedoch etwas besser sein, zb fehlen Suppenschalen und die Spülmaschine ist defekt. Insgesamt aber eine schöne Location. Jedoch abseits gelegen.

Wundervolle Lage, perfektes Basislager

Haben die Zeit in der Lodge sehr genossen. Pluspunkte sind insbesondere die tolle Lage, der phantastische Ausblick, der helle, gemütliche und gut eingerichtete Wohnraum sowie die herrliche Ruhe. Hatten sogar Besuch von zwei Rehen. Zum Einkaufen oder zum nächsten Pub ist es ein Stück (ca.15 Autominuten), und die Schlafräume sind funktional, aber alles war sauber und in einwandfreiem Zustand. Jederzeit wieder!

Tolle Unterkunft in herrlicher Lage

Eine wunderbare, großzügige und gut ausgestattete Unterkunft. Herrliche Terrasse und schönes Wohnzimmer mit Blick auf u.a. Ben Nevis. Zum Einkaufen muss man zwischen 3 (Spar in Spean Bridge) oder 5 Meilen (Coop Banavie) fahren - idealerweise vorher Lebensmittel Einkaufen. Ansonsten gibt es bei Bedarf jederzeit Support seitens des Vermieters. Für uns war es ein prima Ausgangspunkt für unsere Aktivitäten in dieser Region.

Nice place

The cabin and location are nice and we enjoyed our stay. There are a couple of things to know before booking though. First if you’re like me & not really used to two-way single track roads, there’s 6 miles of this white knuckle driving to get here. Not a knock against the place but just something to know up front; and if you’re going to be driving in the Highlands you need to quickly get comfortable on those roads. Also, there’s not typically anyone at reception unless someone is checking in or out. Contrary to the photos you can’t get to or really even see the canal from most of the cabins, so it’s about a mile walk down that road to get to the lock bridge and walking trails. They’re great once you get there though. Finally, and this is specific for Lewis, there is one tree that perfectly blocks the view of Ben Nevis. All that said, this a nice, clean, quiet, private place to use as a base for your visit to the Highlands.
