NEIGHBORHOOD
The Magenta district is a great area for those who love being a stone’s throw from the center of Milan, but want a quiet area. Thanks to its location, located a few steps from the Castello Sforzesco, enjoys all kinds of service and is well connected by public transport surface, the subway M1 and M2. In the immediate vicinity is also Parco Sempione, an ideal place to walk in peace or play sports.
GET AROUND
Walking along Corso Magenta from the part that connects Largo d\'Ancona to Via Meravigli, going towards the center, you can admire period houses, ancient shops and historic venues in Milan. Palazzo Litta, large palace of the Baroque period with its Theatre, Casa Rossi, particular for its wonderful octagonal courtyard and the Civic Archaeological Museum of Milan in a former convent. Adjacent to the museum is the Church of San Maurizio al Monastero Maggiore where you can admire what many people call the Sistine Chapel in Milan, with frescoes and other works of art. Do not miss a stop behind the historic Pasticceria Marchesi, which we recommend for a short refreshment, to see what is a piece of history of the ancient Roman Milan (Mediolanum) with the remains of the Imperial Palace of Maximian.
Along the other direction of Corso Magenta you arrive at the Piazza di Santa di Santa Maria delle Grazie where there is the Museo del Cenacolo Vinciano which houses the famous painting of the last supper by Leonardo Da Vinci. In front of the Museum you will find the Vigna di Leonardo, reopened for visits since 2015 on the occasion of the EXPO, which was given to Leonardo by the Duke of Milan Ludovico il Moro around 1450 B.C.
