Large apartment and good location

Overall, it was a good stay. Pros 1- The apartment has air conditioning, a split unit and a portable unit. We were in an unairconditioned vrvo apartment in Paris so this was much appreciated. 2- We have 3 teen boys so having 3 beds in one of the rooms was key. The room was large enough to accommodate 3 beds. 3- There is a washing machine in the kitchen. Washer dryer combo. Drying doesn’t work well. 4- Good location. The apartment is near the northeast corner of Hyde Park. You can walk to Marble Arch Underground in less than 5 minutes. Paddington station is ~15-minutes (walking). This is helpful if you’re traveling through Heathrow. You can walk to Harrods or Buckingham Palace in ~25 minutes. Notting Hill, Mayfair, Westminster, etc. are all easily walkable. Cons 1- The apartment building is somewhat rundown and is on a very busy street. However, the apartment has decent sound proofing and is on the 3rd floor. 2- A few things in the kitchen and bathrooms are broken. Issues are mostly cosmetic (vs functional). I recommend the owner hire a handyman for an afternoon to correct some of the issues (vs doing the stuff themselves…I can do a better job with silicone waterproofing in the bathrooms.) 3- Having 1 set of keys is an issue.

Not worth your money

Pick another place to stay. Bugs in the kitchen, broken washer and dryer, plus everything looks more rough than in the pictures. Extremely dirty carpet in building common areas. Close to underground station and Hyde Park, but otherwise it was awful.

Summer 2024

This was not a great value. Several things were broken or not available and the apartment was very run down, broken hinges etc. 1. The shower overhead in the second bathroom did not work. The water came out of the over head was discolored. 2. There were few supplies, i.e. no paper towel, no extra toilet paper, no hair dryer, no linens for the pullout, etc. 3. The apartment/building has an ant problem and trash has to be out directly on fire escape, no garbage can in kitchen. 4. There was only one set of keys for the flat which made organizing our travel very difficult. 5. The building is extremely smoky in the common areas and I believe the front desk porter smokes inside the lobby.
