Property information
The main building pre-dates the A143 bypass and can be seen on historic photographs when the road was a railway line. Historic records describe it as a pub back in the 1960s. We continue to be fully licenced serving a range of craft beer, cider, spirits as well as artisan coffee and soft drinks. It was extended in the 1980s and has offered accommodation for many years. The rooms are comfortable and show some quirky character of the building. The rooms face east across the A143 and the fens towards the village of Homersfield. To the rear are grazing fields and the gardens extend to the Beck, a tributary of the River Waveney. The gardens are a haven for wildlife. This year we have had sightings of woodpeckers, newts, and deer that visit in the early hours of a summer morning. There is on site parking at the rear of the building.
Neighbourhood information
The Dove Inn is set in one acre of mature gardens, mainly lid to lawn. We are situated in the heart of the Waveney Valley on the A143 in South Norfolk between the historic market towns of Harleston in Norfolk and Bungay in Suffolk.
