San Pietro Holiday Retreat, Lalzit Bay, Albania

Set among umbrella pine trees, this third-floor apartment sleeps 6 people. It is part of San Pietro Resort and just a 5-minute walk from Lalzit Bay on the Adriatic Riviera. The apartment makes an ideal base for friends or family looking for a relaxing beach holiday in this beautiful corner of Albania.

The contemporary apartment has been carefully decorated and has an airy open-plan living area with an L-shaped sofa and a flat-screen TV. The wooden dining table is next to large glass doors which open onto the shaded balcony. The balcony offers outdoor living space and is furnished with a comfortable sofa, coffee table and a swinging egg chair. There is also a dining table and chairs for meals al fresco.

Back indoors we find a sleek, open kitchen which is fully equipped with a cooker hob, oven, coffee machine, dishwasher, a fridge/freezer and a breakfast bar with 2 stools.

Bedroom 2: This sunny bedroom has two single beds and a wardrobe.
Extra: One of the sofas in the living area converts into a comfortable double bed.

Location
The resort of San Pietro is on Lalzit Bay, one of the most popular holiday-destinations in Albania. The gently sloping beaches are very child-friendly. There are also several good restaurants (2-minute walk) and bars. Visitors who are looking for a more active holiday will plenty to do on the beach including scuba diving, jet-skiing, water-skiing and a children’s playground. For self-catering there is a supermarket in San Pietro (1-minute drive).

Away from the coast there are many charming hill towns, including Kruje (1 hour) which is home to 5th-century Kruje Castle, as well as Kruje Bazaar which dates back to the 17th century. Here you can find authentic Albanian carpets, textiles and ceramics. There are also hiking routes in the surrounding mountains which range from the easy to the challenging.

Tirana is a 45-minute drive and makes a great day trip. It is an eclectic mix of Ottoman, Soviet and Fascist architecture. The city is easy to explore on foot. Blloku is an exciting, young area, full of cafés and interesting boutiques. The main square – Skanderbeg Square is a must-see. The city’s markets offer a window onto everyday life. The New Market, Pazari Ri offers a wide range of local produce.

Tirana International Airport is just a 40-minute drive from the apartment.
