About this property
Flaherty Cottage, Cosy relaxing cottage with views
Cosy and lovingly refurbished farming/fishing Connemara family cottage with the usual mod cons. Original a house built well over a century ago.
A short stroll from the secluded beaches of Mannin with its miles of pristine white sandy beaches, framed by a large sky over the Atlantic Ocean and Connemara’s Twelve Pins mountains to the East. Access to many acres of unspoiled beach terrain for ramblers adhering to the welcoming signage of local landowners.
The original cottage footprint is the current dining/living room area with a vaulted ceiling (previously known as the kitchen) and two adjoining bedrooms. At a later date, the cottage was extended to include an additional bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and what is now a utility area. A small porch, south-facing, was also added to the old cottage, which has become a favourite little retreat.
Relax after a walk on the beach sitting by the cosy stove fire.
One bedroom with two single beds and another with a small double bed comprises the two bedrooms of the old cottage.
A third bedroom with a king-size double bed has a sea view of picturesque Mannin Bay.
The bathroom has a modern electric shower fitted.
Modern kitchen includes electric oven, gas hob, microwave, and fridge-freezer. Sit, sip and enjoy the view through the window including Inis Shark in the west, Inish Boffin and as far north as Achill Island 60km away.
Flaherty Cottage sits on its own ground, with stone wall-lined access from the road. Wildflowers, trees and some mown grass all around. Ample room for cars and an outdoor seating area with furniture all sit atop gravel-covered surround.
Flaherty Cottage shares access with a quiet working farm
All-Inclusive – Free WiFi
Linen and towels are inclusive in the rental rate.
Flaherty Cottage is happy to accept pets, we would ask that dogs be supervised at all times as there is livestock in the surrounding fields. Pets are not permitted on beds or on furniture and any additional cleaning due to pets will be deducted from the security deposit.
Check-in time is from 4pm onwards (If you require a late check-in please let your host know)
Check-out time is at 10am on day of departure.
