Traditional island house with magnificent view on Chora Astypalaia

My name is Konstantinos Stathis. I am a filmmaker and musical producer. I was born in Athens, I live and work in Thessaloniki. I have spent many beautiful summers with my family and friends in this house. It is a great pleasure for me to host travellers who are seeking for a quality and relaxing experience in this really fond place of mine.

The house stands on a quiet and rather picturesque neighborhood of Astypalaia Chora, just a few minutes walk from the central square and the Chora Mills and less than 1km from the main landmark of the island the Guerini Castle. The location of the apartment is quire pivotal since it combines privacy, an enjoyable view to the open sea and to the natural beauty of the island, while offering at the same time quick and easy access to food markets, cafés, bars and restaurants, such as Restaurant Barbarossa, Archipelagos Patisserie, Artemis and Castro Bar. Also, on a 15minute walk via pathway is sited the small bay of Magazaki, where one can enjoy a swim in a unique scenery with crystal clear waters and a spectacular view towards Chora and the Guerini Castle from sea level.

From the time that this house became a family property it has been renovated, facilitated and equiped to meet the diverse needs for long term stays of a large family consisting of elders, middle aged and younger adults and children. My mother's passion for interior design and painting, along with my filmmaking occupation, combined with our family origins from another island of the Aegean and our inherent affection for the traditional architecture and the natural landscape, have made us through the years re-imagine and fulfil the evolution of this house into an apartment of modern islandic originality. A place we created for our pleasure and spent many happy summers as a family and with our close friends. So, after some further advancements that have been made to benefit the house even more in the recent years, today's visitor is able to enjoy a memorable stay in a warm environment of comfort, aesthetics and funcionality.
