The holiday home is a mesmerizing retreat with its origins steeped in history, dating back to the period between 1903 and 1905. Originally conceived as a horse stable and carriage house for the adjacent noble palace, this magnificent estate was crafted by the current owner's great-grandfather, Egidio, an enterprising merchant of oil, wine, and Lucca's finest cheeses, who extended his trade beyond Italy's borders, reaching as far as Brazil.

Today, the holiday home exudes an atmosphere of timeless elegance, enriched by the exquisite outdoor furnishings adorned with intricate stone statues. These masterpieces were sculpted by the owner’s grandfather, a gifted artist who honed his craft in a historic atelier perched on the ancient walls of Lucca. The statues, with their striking majesty and grace, not only enhance the outdoor space but also weave a narrative of artistic and familial heritage, deeply interwoven with the residence's own enchanting history.

In this setting of refined elegance and rich history, every detail of the holiday home radiates a profound sense of continuity and connection with the past. Guests are invited to immerse themselves in a unique experience, surrounded by a tapestry of culture and beauty that transcends time.

Note: the house is located very close to the railway tracks so it is possible to hear the noise of the passing trains. The train station is located very close so the passing trains pass at a very slow speed as they are preparing to stop. This causes the noise to be low or sometimes almost imperceptible. We stayed in the house for 5 hours in the afternoon and we verified that the frequency of trains in transit is around 1 or 2 per hour.

Lucca villa

Although the villa is next to the train line, it is very convenient to access Lucca and the train station. High standard of property. A welcome pack would be a nice touch, including extra bottled water, bottle of wine, cheese, bread, etc. I feel the cleaning fee was very high for a 2 bedroom property, I would suggest incorporating it into the price of the villa, rather than showing it separately.

What can I say about this gorgeous place. It truly is stunning with the most fantastic attention to detail to ensure everything you need is there. It is beautifully renovated to the highest standard and it is very spacious to comfortably accommodate 4. The pool is a fantastic addition and made sitting in the garden very pleasant when it got hot. The location is perfect with a less than 5 minute walk to get you inside the city walls at an area where there is many restaurants and shops. Lucca is a beautiful city, very charming with lots of little interesting alleys and areas to see. The villa has the train line running past it, don’t let this put you off, we slept in the room on that side and were never disturbed by it. Our host Monica was superb, gave us lots of tips for things to do and places to eat. We will definately return to this beautiful home ❤️
