Charming flat in the medieval heart of Sarlat-la-Canéda, the historic capital of the eastern Dordogne.

Sarlat is one of Europe's most beautiful medieval towns, with the highest density of listed historic buildings in France. It is also a market town, and is famous for its Saturday market, as well as a smaller one on Wednesdays. The market showcases the local produce of Périgord cuisine. Sarlat is full of restaurants where you can indulge in the gastronomy of this magical place.

The area around Sarlat is rich in cultural heritage, with châteaux and beautiful villages, as well as caves, chasms and archaeological sites. Outdoor activities include hiking, climbing, cycling, canoeing and more.

The flat is tastefully decorated, charming and comfortable with a SHERLOCK HOLMES theme and has a fully equipped kitchen, living/dining room, double bedroom, bathroom and toilet. It is located in the historic centre of the town with its art shops, market and restaurants. Less than 2 km from Sarlat train station. Free public car parks are within walking distance. Paid public parking is on the outskirts of the medieval town, which is mainly pedestrianised.

The location was stunning. The apartment was comfortable and well maintained and had old world charm. The process of receiving the access information was not well coordinated by the host. After filling out required information about arrival time and upon arriving at the stated arrival time we had to none the less contact the host numerous times before we received access codes.

Appartement très bien situé, en plein centre de Sarlat et cependant calme.Hôte très disponible, très aimable et très réactive.L'appartement était très propre et accueillant. Les produits indispensables etaient à notre disposition ( sel, huile vinaigre, café, produits pour le ménage...).Nous avons passé un excellent séjour.

Die Unterkunft war sehr sauber, die Küche war gut ausgestattet. Das Bad mit Dusche war sehr angenehm. Insgesamt war das Apartement sehr gut zu erreichen, da es unmittelbar am alten Marktplatz gelegen ist. Sehr empfehlenswert.

Le petit appartement est merveilleusement situé, au cœur de Sarlat. Il est très bien décoré, avec beaucoup de goût, en fonction du thème "Sherlock Holmes". Tout y est prévu pour un maximum de confort.Hélas, nous devons déplorer 3 inconvénients majeurs: - très peu d'eau chaude à la salle de bains (un tout petit peu le premier jour, puis uniquement de l'eau froide!)- fortes nuisances sonores le jour de la livraison des boissons pour le bar d'à côté, tri et déplacement particulièrement bruyants des vidanges de bouteilles. Nous avons été réveillés à 6h du matin par un bruit infernal qui a duré au moins 1h15 et à partir de 8h, d'autres livreurs venaient acheminer eux aussi des palettes de marchandises dans la réserve du bar situé en contrebas de notre chambre.- problème de sécurité du bâtiment: le portail donnant sur la rue étant maintenu ouvert la nuit par le bar, une ou des personnes se sont introduites dans les étages de l'immeuble, vers minuit, agitant le heurtoir de chaque porte. La porte du rez-de-chaussée, en bas des escaliers n'a pas de serrure!

Une très bonne adresse. Je recommande

en plein centre de Sarlat, idéalement situé. Propre, bien équipé, calme, joliment décoré. L'hôte nous a recontacté car nous n'arrivions pas à faire fonctionner la télé. Elle a été arrangeante concernant notre départ. Le logement dispose de linge de toilettes et quelques dosettes de café et thé.
