Overlooking the village green within the picture postcard village of Elsdon, Blue House is a quintessential rural retreat. This superbly appointed property has undergone a full makeover to provide exquisite accommodation in an idyllic setting. Dating back to 1782, Blue House is a stone-built, double-fronted property which simply oozes charm and character. With so much thought, care and attention to the finer details the standard of accommodation is sublime. With many original features still intact it offers a wonderful blend of old and new. The spacious living room focuses upon a cosy wood burner set in a large inglenook fireplace; a restful place to rest and watch the flames dance after a day exploring the spectacular Northumbrian countryside that surrounds Blue House. The separate dining room provides a second reception room and the contemporary kitchen at the rear is very well-equipped. There is a convenient shower room also on the ground floor. With four immaculately presented bedrooms and a family bathroom on the first floor, Blue House is an excellent choice for the gathering of families and friends, or for those couples seeking a ‘chocolate box’ romantic hideaway. The extensive west-facing gardens are a magical delight; perfect to dine alfresco as the sun sets and a superb space for children and dogs at play.

We spent Christmas in the Blue House and had a lovely time.
We spent Christmas in the Blue House and had a lovely time. The accommodation is spacious, comfortable, clean and really well equipped. The owners were very generous with welcome gifts and were extremely helpful answering queries we had before we arrived and returning an item left behind. The Blue House is a home more than a holiday let and we would love to return.
