About this property

La Casa de Ana en Fisterra se Ubica en una Antigua Fábrica de Salazón de 1805

La Casa de Ana in Fisterra is not just a place to stay—it’s part of our family history. It’s located in what used to be an old salting factory, built in 1805 in Lugar de San Roque, a site chosen for its proximity to the sea and the coastal resources. In 1924, our great-grandparents, Juan Bautista Ínsua Canosa and Concepción Ramallo Canosa, bought it after returning from the United States, and ever since, it has been a home full of memories for our family.

It was our home; we grew up here, in what is now La Casa de Ana (yes, Ana is my mother 😊). For us, it’s not just a house by the beach (which, by the way, couldn’t be any closer!), it’s a place that we know, from experience, has something unique. It’s not just about the breathtaking views, which any other, more distant accommodation could also offer. It’s about the proximity, the real connection with the surroundings. It’s a luxury that goes beyond the visual.

Those of us who have lived here know what it feels like to be in a place where nature envelops you. The beach isn’t just something you look at from the window, like a painting, but something you experience. The sound of the waves, the smell of the sea, the breeze… Everything is just a few steps away. And it is this immediacy that makes staying at La Casa de Ana such a special experience.

Despite the years that have passed since our childhood, and the changes around us—more houses, more cars, more noise— La Casa de Ana remains intact in its original location, with nothing having disrupted its direct connection to the beach. Those who stay here do so to experience the surroundings, not to just gaze out a window. This is a place that invites you to go out, to soak up the atmosphere, and to disconnect from the outside world.

At other accommodations, you have to get in the car, juggle your luggage, and waste time traveling to get to the beach. Here, that doesn’t happen. From the moment you arrive, you’re already at the beach! Nothing separates you from the sea except a few steps.

That proximity—so hard to find these days—is what makes La Casa de Ana truly one-of-a-kind. It’s not just a place to admire, but to feel, experience, and enjoy with all your senses.
