About this property
Oar Cottage - Seahouses
Located on Seahouses’ harbour front with amazing sea views. Leave your car and walk from the doorstep to explore the harbour, beach, shops, bars and restaurants. Head to the Farne Islands on a boat trip from the harbour to see the grey seal colonies, puffins (in the season) and a collection of seabirds. You might even glimpse a visiting dolphin. Visitors are welcome at the golf course (0.5 miles) or you can play crazy golf in the village. Walk the coastal path to Beadnell Bay (3 miles), known for a range of water sporting activities. Enjoy a beach stroll and picnic, or eat lunch in the beachside café or village pub/restaurant. Visit Bamburgh Castle (3.5 miles), its gorgeous beach, village shops, eateries and museum, Alnwick Castle and Gardens (14 miles) and Holy Island (19.5 miles).
Enter this former fisherman’s cottage on the ground floor and store your outdoor coats and boots in the hallway. The double bedroom is on this level with an easy chair, a built-in wardrobe, and a chest of drawers for your things, and you can enjoy a wonderful view of the harbour and coast from the extra wide window. There is also a shower room on the ground floor with a shower cubicle and WC. Head upstairs to find the open-plan living accommodation with spectacular views from the wall-to-wall windows. Please note, the stairs are steep and may not be suitable for those with reduced mobility. The kitchen is well-equipped if you decide to eat in, with an electric oven and hob, a fridge, a microwave, an air fryer, and a dishwasher. The lounge is the perfect place to unwind with two comfortable sofas so you can both spread out and relax, read a book, watch Smart TV or snuggle up and watch the comings and goings in the harbour. The feature fireplace (not operational) adds to the overall charm and French doors open onto the balcony with views right across the harbour to the Farne Islands and north to Bamburgh Castle.
Outside on the first floor, there is a wrap-around balcony with a bistro set where you can sit with your morning coffee and evening drinks to watch the light changing on the water and the fishing boats returning with the daily catch.
