Would give this property 10 stars if I could. It is a beautiful property and Sue was an excellent host. She gave us lots of tips for the area and left us an amazing basket of goodies to enjoy. There was everything you could need and more. Sue kept in touch throughout the week to make sure we were okay. Would definitely stay here again if we were in the area.
Fantastic property. Great central location for many places to visit and only 10 min from the beach. Coop for groceries just across the road. The cottage is very well equipped everything you need and much more, lots of games, toys, books and DVDs which our 8 & 2 year olds loved. Sue was a great host, v good communication and v friendly. Lovely welcome hamper too. We had a brilliant break and would definitely stay again
Really enjoyed our stay at Cobblers Cottage, the welcome hamper was a very nice touch, excellent communication with Susan from start to finish, would thoroughly recommend a stay here
This is one of the very best cottages I have ever stayed in - amazing attention to detail - everything has been thought of. It was a pleasure to stay there
Excellent hostess- property conveniently located for exploring.
Sue was very impressive - keen to make sure we were happy and well looked after. Belford is a nice village, with a good Coop for food shopping. It is more of a base to explore from, rather than a destination in itself, but that was clear in the listing so we were very happy with our stay.
This property is amazing, so well stocked with all of the things you need with 3 children. The welcome baskets and little treats we such a blessing after a long drive. For our son, who is autistic with ADHD, the neutral décor and clean smell were very helpful. It was a great location for the main attractions locally. The farm shop and village were lovely places to be based.
Well equipped. Everything we needed. Warm. Really nice welcome hamper. Lovely home made cake and local produce. Centrally situated for local walking. Would definitely stay again.
A lovely cottage very clean and comfortable,a credit to sue,and a very nice welcome hamper especially the home made cake her sister mandy made,it should be on sale in the shops its that good.would recommend it to any one in a good area to visit all the castles and sites around stayed with my wife and a thia friend visiting uk for her first time, she loved it,
Excellent property for our short stay, very comfortable and conveniently located, Susan was very easy to communicate with and its clear she wants her guests to enjoy their stay, which we did. Thankyou Susan for the very generous welcome pack, it was very much appreciated.
We loved staying here. I had a newborn and was worried about staying away from home. She was great and made everything clear with the booking and accessing the property. She left a lovely hamper for us and the property was close to a shop and a lovely pub. We were able to visit all the local features and loved coming back to the cottage as it was very homely and warm. The games and toys were a super bonus and the kitchen was well stocked with little bits. We would love to stay again.
We had a lovely stay in this property. The welcome hamper was a treat and very generous, the property was clean, comfy and well equipped. The owner has gone to a lot of effort to try and think of everything! Communication was easy and Sue went to the trouble of posting something to us that my son managed to leave behind. The location was great to explore Northumberland and the Scottish Borders.
I’ve returned today from a stay here and I can’t come on here quick enough to review it. Clean. Great location for trips into Bamburgh and Seahouses. Local pubs are fab (The Salmon is beautiful food). Beds comfy. Literally has everything you need. Lovely welcome basket which was really welcomed after a long trip. Lilidorei at the Alnwick Garden is 30 mins or so and fab for young children (mine are 6&8 magical place and kept them busy all day! The closest we’ve been to Disney) A MUST VISIT Sue - you’re a gem! Great communication and such a helpful lady. We will be returning and we cannot wait. Thanks sue 🥰
The cottage was well equipped and felt like home.
The little touches such as games and books had been well thought out and was such a welcoming place.
My only regret is that we only had 3 nights to enjoy it.
Sue was a great host, answered questions quickly, and genuinely cared whether you were having a great time. The food in the welcome basket was absolutely delicious! (The cake was gone far too quickly 😊)
Thank you for such a wonderful few days!
Cobbler's Cottage is a credit to Sue, the host. Great communication throughout. Lovely touch with a welcome hamper. Clean & cosy cottage - couldn't have asked for more! Parking space handy. Cottage fully equipped with local shops, pubs & cafe. Ideal location for exploring Northumberland. Our dog had a lovely holiday too. Will definitely book again. Thank you Sue xx

Everything you might need
We have just returned for a lovely long weekend. Very lucky with the weather. This cottage is in great location for visiting all areas of Northumberland and has everything to cater for dogs and children. Would definitely recommend. The most well equipped cottage I’ve ever stayed in. Clean tidy and comfy beds. Co op just over the road and some local pubs close by. Little park down the road for kid to. Lovely little hamper on arrival.
Thank you sue! X
Sue has made Cobbler's cottage a lovely cosy, comfortable place to stay. Just like being at home, with all you need & Sue has gone the extra mile.A generous & thoughtful food and drink hamper.A relaxing and great place to stay. A good location to visit Northumberland. Thank you Sue
What a fabulous cottage. Wonderful welcome basket with local treats. Loads of books and board games. Comfy beds with cosy bedding. Sue provided all the info before we arrived and was available if needed during our stay. Would definitely stay again!
I cannot praise this lovely property highly enough. The whole house was very clean and comfortable. It’s the attention to detail that we were impressed by. Lovely furniture, some of the furniture in the living room seemed brand new. Lots of books, current magazines, games, a welcome hamper local food & drink, cake and chocolates in the bedroom. The decoration is perfect, especially in one bedroom for younger family members. Outside is a lovely garden gazebo with chairs and a lamp, again very clean & cosy. 10/10 we will be returning
We had a really lovely stay at Cobblers Cottage. It was enhanced by the genuine care and consideration shown by Sue. Her clear communication and flexibility made us feel welcome and at ease from start to finish. Beautiful cottage and area. We hope to be back again soon.
Cobblers Cottage is a lovely comfortable cottage with everything you need for your stay. The welcome hamper was a lovely surprise. Sue is a great host, with timely, accurate communication re entry to the property and available for any questions.
We had a lovely week exploring the Northumberland coast. This cottage was comfortable and homely. It had everything you needed. Parking space was great and access good. It's a perfect base with many places 10-20 mins drive. Beds, sitting area with sofas and dining room all brilliant. Kitchen ok but the oven and grill pan was not clean. All kitchen cupboards full with lots of things you wouldn't usually find in a holiday rental. Lots of ornaments everywhere but we moved things about. The bathroom was big and shower was great. We all slept well and the host, Sue was great at keeping In touch. There is a church nearby that has hourly chimes even through the night but you can only hear this with windows open.Once you get used to it it was fine but made us giggle mid way through the night as our window was always open as it was August. There are two pubs nearby and you do get noise at closing time. Unfortunately twice we had people vomiting outside but it was a bank holiday. The cottage does sit on a main road and you can hear traffic but this wasn't a big issue for us. All in all we enjoyed our stay and would recommend here to family and friends.
The property is located in a brilliant location to centrally explore Northumberland. The house has everything you could need, the toys & books for the kids were a welcome addition and the complimentary hamper that was left for us by Sue was phenomenal. Thanks for a lovely stay!

About the host

I have lived in Northumberland all of my life & wouldn't want to live anywhere else. Paul & I have been married 40 years & have two daughters & three grandchildren. Both of us coming from large families means family & friends are very important to us (any excuse for a get together). Cobblers Cottage feels like an extension of this I love getting ready for guests arrival & try hard to make sure that I have catered for anything that I think will be needed. It means a lot to me that you feel welcome & "at home" . I try to provide those little things that are a pain to go out & buy on your holidays. I well remember arriving at our holiday cottage after a very long hot drive & not even having a tea bag & milk , therefore you will always arrive to tea coffee milk & a little welcome pack, my sister (auntie Mand)provides me with home made cake & jam made with fruit from her organic allotment. I can't control the weather, but I want you to feel comfortable, relaxed & to enjoy Cobblers as much as we do. Treat it as your home that's the biggest compliment to us & hopefully we'll be welcoming you back soon.
Why they chose this property
Cobblers is a lovely house, it's bright , homely & very relaxing. It's perfect for families being over three floors, or for couples as you just dont use the top floor. I love the position it's so central for coast & country in a fabulous part of Northumberland. The Scottish borders are just a short drive away & East Lothian is well worth a visit. North Berwick is a lovely day out with a trip to the Seabird centre & a boat trip round Bass rock . It's hard to appreciate how well positioned Cobblers is for exploring this lovely area.
