We booked this apartment on behalf of a guest who would be working near the theatre for 3 weeks. We were so disappointed as it seemed to be such a great place to call home for a while. It looked great online, but the whole flat was dusty and extremely dirty - it looked nothing like the photos. The guest checked in and had to leave the next day, where we had to find him alternative accommodation ASAP. To name some issues, the bathroom light was hanging out of of the celling and the microwave was covered in dirt and had not been cleaned in a long time. The host never replied to me about the condition of the flat with photo evidence, so I contacted Vrbo / Expedia directly. We only managed to get a partial refund. We hope the flat will be in better condition for other guests!
This flat is in the Polygon neighborhood of Southampton which is an area full of Edwardian-era buildings, so the flat has the finishings and character that you would expect in a historic building. Many students live in the area and the neighborhood was quiet. Big windows let in lots of light and the flat was very clean and the furniture was comfortable. All the appliances and utilities worked well and there was a full size refrigerator. The Wi-Fi was strong and fast. There was off-street parking which was a big plus. The best thing about this flat was its location—it was walking distance to many shops and restaurants and the train and bus stations. We even found it easy to walk to the West Quay shopping mall.
Property was so dirty and disgusting we walked in and walked out . Took the host a week to clean it and by that time we had to find somewhere else. Could not stay there still fighting to get our money back.
