Disliked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, location, listing accuracy
Absolutely appalling. No contact from the host whatsoever at any stage, despite continual requests from us. Vrbo equally bad. When we contacted on the day before they were no help whatsoever although they did promise to find us a replacement place in the same area for no extra cost if we didn't get contact with the host on how to access the property. They said we had to wait until 6 hours before checking before this would be cancelled which is completely unacceptable as we would then need to book somewhere else last minute and we were traveling on planes at that time. Eventually when it was cancelled vrbo said they would provide 150% refund. Within 5 minutes they said no this was not the case and that they would also not provide us with any other accommodation, despite having promised so and me double checking this the day before. So VRBO completely washed their hands of us as their customers and absolutely let us down. What a disgrace! Clearly they only care about their commission and nothing else. I'm sure vrbo will respond to this saying they did help and all sorts of excuses, but bottom line is they did nothing and we had to wait until a few hours before check in to get a confirmation that we would get a refund and then have to book an alternative hotel at a very expensive price.
