Disliked: Check-in, communication, listing accuracy
This stay was not very good. When we arrived we struggled to figure out which building it was in. Then we realized we never got a code for the front door, so we called the number on the listing, then found a different phone number on the front door to call. It took us 4 calls to get ahold of someone. Then when we got inside we didn’t have a code to get the key to our room, which is when we found out it was a hostel. The listing doesn’t state that it is a hostel. If I knew it would not be as much of an issue. We never received any information regarding check in before we got to the property. There wasn’t any wifi, even though the listing stated that there was. The tv remote had no batteries. Before the stay, less than 24hrs. prior to the confirmation of the booking, we tried to cancel because we weren’t sure if we could actually make the trip, and the host confirmed the booking, THEN messaged us back saying that we couldn’t get a refund if we canceled. Finally, the deadbolt lock on the door (IN A HOSTEL) didn’t even lock. We didn’t stay there for very long before we went and got a hotel instead. When we got there we called VRBO, and they couldn’t get ahold of the host either. I have since received no contacting regarding any information about my experience.
