About this property

Charming traditional Norwegian cabin

You can rent this charming and traditional Norwegian wooden cabin right on the waterfront of Tokevannet lake in Telemark this summer. It has its own private beach, pier and boat with motor. A large terrace provides for peaceful mornings and late evenings with a lot of sunshine, close to nature in all its tranquility. You will also have access to a floating sauna with superb view of the lake. With its long shoreline and countless bigger and smaller islands and wedges, Lake Toke is an eldorado for boaters and anglers. You will have your own private beach. There are plenty trout, roe, whitefish and perch, as well as other animals like ducks and bevers. With the cabin, an aluminium boat and motor is for free use.

The cottage has one bedroom with a double bed, and two small bedrooms in the attic with two single beds on each. It has a terrace, a veranda, a small kitchen and a living room with a fireplace.

The cabin has a TV set with 20 TV channels and a 40 mbit internet line and WIFI connection.

Within easy driving distance is the center of Prestestranda, with shops and liquor store. About 90 minutes away is the water amusement park Sommarland in Bø. About 40 minutes away is the town of Kragerø and the idyllic southern coast of Norway.

The cabin has electricity, but not water. Drinks for drinking water are available at the cabin and they can be filled free at the nearest gas station. Parking near the cottage. Simple toilet in a separate building.

The cabin is next to a public beach.

We enjoyed the lake very much. We went swimming and kayaking and stand up paddeling every day. The cabin was cozy with some nice details (anti moskito nets at the windows, sharp knives, cutains that really keep the light out of the windows.) We enjoyed the outdoor sofa and the large terasse. The non-water toilet was OK and since the weather was mild we could use the solar shower that we brought with us. Sigmund was available and helped when we needed him.All in all, we enjoyed our stay in the cabin very much.

We had such an incredible stay at the cabin. My husband, 2 children ages 5 & 7 and our dog had a relaxing stay for two nights. Access to the cabin was easy. The cabin was clean and cozy. Beds were very comfortable. The outside washroom was clean. Life jackets were available for children and adults which was nice because we didn’t bring any for the boat. Cabin was well equipped with everything we needed, dishes, space heaters, kettle, big fridge. The sun sets facing the back of the house which is so beautiful in the evening. The lake is like glass, so quiet and peaceful. There is nothing like waking up to that view in the morning with a hot cup of coffee. You could hear traffic from the road behind the cabin but it didn’t bother us and it was a fair distance so we didn’t worry about the kids or the dog getting on the road. We had to contact the owner a few times with some questions but he was quick to respond and help. Unfortunately we could not get the hot tub to work so hopefully next time it will be up and running! :)
