Great week!

We had a mixture of single and married children with us for the week. Plenty of room inside and outside space for fun! Our dogs loved playing on the beach as well! The pool was great for some respite from the sand too.

Great location

Excellent location. Has all the amenities that you will need. The grill was not working but we contacted the property management company and they replaced it the next day. We would definitely go back.

Loved the location and privacy it provides. Looks like the house has recently undergone updates and is very well maintained. The beach and views from all over the house are wonderful. Can't wait to come back next year.

Beautiful beaches

A very nice house. In my opinion, it could use a few updates, but overall was nice. Lovely area. The beaches were clean and quite private to local guests. Very dog friendly. I would recommend this house for a nice vacation.

We enjoyed it

It's a great property. You can tell it's not brand new, but there is nothing that annoyed me. We enjoyed the deck, outside (hot and cold) shower, and awesome beach location. My (tall) son didn't appreciate the bunk beds, but loved the futon bed. The doors to the deck (screen and glass) need some TLC, but honestly, if that's the major complaint, you can tell it's a stretch. We'll be looking to return.

Great place at Indian Pass

We found this property to be delightful. It was clean and nicely decorated . The furniture was comfortable. We loved the dining table on the screened in porch. The kitchen was plenty equipped .The microwave malfunctioned on our first day and was promptly replaced with no disruption to us. Bonus : pet friendly and our corgi had a blast on the beach ! Loved our stay.

4th of July Beach Week

We had a fabulous visit to Indian Pass. Indian Summer is a wonderful home to stay in and the beach is just a few steps from the back door. We were concerned that our group may be too large for the space in the house; but even with our group filling every bed and the futon we had plenty of room. The owners were very accommodating to our requests and all of our questions were answered promptly. We had a great week that went by all too quickly.

Most relaxing vacay ever!

We had an excellent time at this house. The location is just perfect if you are looking for a place to relax and play in the ocean. I loved that the house was on a large lot and wasn’t crowded at all. The size of the house was absolutely perfect for us and our three teenagers.

Pet friendly and stargazing paradise

When we were booking, we had a specific list of criteria: Pet friendly - this is such a pet friendly area (restaurants/coffee shops all have outdoor eating areas that are pet friendly) ! We took our 2 fur babies and they had a blast on the beach, hanging out on the decks, and lounging around by the large ocean side windows. There are also several areas you can wash the dogs down outside when you are coming in from the beach. Privacy - this area is very secluded/private. The house sits on a pretty wide lot, so the few neighbors you have are not very close. Stargazing - we are Astrophotography hobbyists and we chose this area because of the low light pollution. The area right around the house is very dark at night, there is not a nearby city putting off light. You can see the milky way with the naked eye. The deck faces south and gives an excellent place to photograph star trails. If you are using a star tracker to rotate you camera with the earth, you need to shoot from the beach to polar align the tracker. Family - we had my family (brother, sister and brother-in-law) join us for part of our stay. All the bedrooms have a great view of the ocean so no one felt like they got the short straw. We spent our evenings around the fire pit on the beach roasting marshmallows. Water sports - we are avid kayakers and paddle-boarders. The water at the beach was a little too choppy most of the time for the SUPs (but we tried!), so we ended up driving over to the bay for that. It’s not very far at all and is so beautiful and so full of life. We saw sea turtles, reds, mullet, small sharks, starfish and, of course, scallops. We didn’t bring fishing gear this time, but we will next time. We loved this rental so much and will be booking it again.

Very comfortable and peaceful

We love this house - it was our second stay in three years. The windows in the great room give a wonderful view of the Gulf. The furniture was comfortable with plenty of seats to sit a bottom. The kitchen wares were plentiful and in good shape, so I was able to cook more during our stay. The bedrooms are separated and each has a en-suite bathroom. We would stay here again.

Perfect Week!

We had a terrific week at Indian Summer! The owner is great and quick to respond. The house is secluded and most days we didn’t have anyone on the beach next to us for a mile or more! Shells everywhere- perfect for our daughters. House had everything we needed! It was the perfect end to our summer.

Peace and quiet

This is a wonderful place to get away from it all and enjoy time with the family. We were fortunate enough to see the sunrise and a full moon reflecting off the gulf at the same time! The house is perfect with perfect views from every room. A must stay!

Indian Summer

A perfect name for this beautiful, relaxing beach home! Dauphin watching, sunsets, beach walking, and privacy. We will definitely book again in any season. The only disappointment was the "freshness" of the home. I know the owners would be concerned with housekeeping of their lovely home.

Unbelievable beach house. We never wanted to leave.

This was our second trip to Indian Summer and it was even better than I remembered. My parents met us there a few days early and they immediately fell in love with not just the house but the area in general. The location is just the perfect spot to get away but town isn't too far away if you need anything. The first day there just happened to be the opening of scallop season so my father went to the bay and loaded up. Needless to say, he didn't leave any for us. The first few days of our stay were filled with plenty of fishing. If you love to fish, this is your place. Go down to the pass and launch a boat or kayak. We brought both but I mostly fished out of the yak. Just to the left of the boat ramp (just off the dock) there is a small island. We caught several huge black drum there (30-40 lbs). The other side of the island and much of the bay is loaded with redfish too. I also fished a lot in front of Indian Summer. Dolphins were plentiful and even ran across a few manta rays- WOW! One of them swam right under my kayak. If you are an avid fisherman you'll never want to leave. The kitchen was very well supplied and we were all a little surprised to find everything that we needed. There isn't a reason to bring much but a bathing suit, a fishing pole or two and a nice drink. On a personal note, the owner Kim could not have been nicer. I truly want to thank her for making our stay in her beautiful home such a treat for our family. We recently lost my sister and this was the first time we were all able to be together after her passing. Kim, we all appreciate all of your kindness and can't wait to come back. If you love the outdoors and want to get away from all the crowds, you'll love Indian Pass and Indian Summer. Michael .

Wonderful, sunny home

I rarely leave reviews (I'm a shameless consumer of reviews), but this place deserves one. This was our second year celebrating Passover on the beautiful, quiet beaches of The Forgotten Coast, and the most memorable one. The first thing I notice about any house is how much sun pours in during daytime hours, and this house didn't disappoint. The entire main floor has an airy, open feel thanks to the big windows and doors overlooking the ocean. Sitting on the balcony right on the beach and falling asleep to the sound of crashing waves was so restorative! We spent our days reading on the beach and frolicking in the ocean. Though it was slightly busier than last year, there were still very few people around, and you can literally have a mile of beach to yourself. The house was clean and comfortable, though perhaps a bit dated. We came for the beach and didn't expect a modern, luxurious home. Kim, the owner, was always available and totally delightful to work with. We sure hope to return to this house again!

Can we get any closer to the beach???

When we originally booked Indian Summer, we thought 4 weeks would be good. After thinking about being in Minnesota in any part of winter, we increased our stay to 6 weeks (without any problem on the owner's part). We were so happy to be in this house, on this beach, for 6 weeks. The stars shine so brightly, the waves sound so peaceful. It was an added bonus to see dolphins most every day, but especially great to see them before we checked out on our last day! We had a couple things that needed fixing and the owner was prompt in taking care of those things. The kitchen is well stocked! The beds are comfortable! The beach is spectacular! We enjoyed coffee every morning on the deck, enjoyed lunches on the screen porch. Our daughter and her family joined us for a few days and seeing our granddaughters on the beach was priceless! We will be back, guaranteed!

Great house needs TLC

Great location. Owner easy to work with. Interior in dire need of paint; in every room there are screws and nails protruding from what looks like multiple revisions of curtain rods/decor or something. Old wallpaper in bathrooms, peeling from all seams. The grout on all bathroom floors black with age/dirt. Exterior also needs work. Mold in the porch areas outside the bedrooms. Master bedroom colors very harsh; bright yellow and bright green and very old, as well as the bedroom furniture. There was new carpet however, and the leather sofa in the living room was nice. And although run down looking, we did feel it was clean.

Second visit even better than the first

We stayed at Indian Summer in 2011 and found it to be just what we needed. (4 adults). The beach is quiet, the house is comfortable and is well supplied. My favorite part might be the big sectional in the living room which has room for everyone. You can dine indoors or on the screened porch. There is plenty of room on the deck for dogs to wrestle and play. And it is walking distance to the Raw Bar. When we were planning our beach trip for this year no one wanted to look any further than Indian Summer. We thought we detected some upgrades - the place looked really good. And we had another relaxing visit. This year there were five of us and we all felt like we had plenty of room. We will be back again.

Just what we needed!

We stayed at Indian Summer during Thanksgiving 2012 - and it was just what we needed. Privacy, peace & relaxation - all with an awesome view! LOVED IT! The owners and their staff are very easy to work with. They want you to enjoy your vacation and don't nickel and dime you to death in the process. The kitchen is well stocked for vacation cooking (hey, we cooked Thanksgiving dinner here and it was awesome) but I would highly suggest bringing your own spices and specialty stuff - if you have to bring your Mother-In-Law or someone to impress. But you can buy just about everything at the Piggly Wiggly. The guys golfed at the local course - and disagreed with some of the reviews I had read online before we got here, slamming the course. They thought it was in good shape and had a great time - even complimenting the staff there. They enjoyed themselves. Also, they enjoyed the Indian Pass Raw Bar - which was wicked close. But the best parts were the location, the view, the privacy and the owners wanting to make sure we enjoyed ourselves. True Southern Hospitality through and through. Definitely a class act. For sure we will be back.

Barbara and I live in Atlanta but love the slow paced life at Indian Pass. I am originally from Greece and grew up on the Mediterranean. Barbara is a Southerner.
I went to college in England (Cambridge) and the U.S. (Harvard). Barbara is a Florida State and Auburn alumnus.
We currently live in a house on the Chattahoochee River, and enjoy the coincidence that the river in our back yard flows into the Apalichicola River and eventually, possibly, ends up on our beach.

Why they chose this property

Indian Summer House has 240 feet of frontage on the Gulf and sits on approximately four acres, situated far back from the street. Trees and sand dunes surround the house.

If you prefer not to have close by neighbors, Indian Summer House and the Indian Pass peninsula is a rare find!

What makes this property unique

The two story, open living room that allows bright sunlight to fill the house year round and the panoramic views of the Gulf made us choose Indian Summer House.
