The Casita is attached to our home but separated by the two car garage. It is a southwestern style ranch surrounded by alfalfa fields and very large old growth cottonwood trees. The Casita is inside the gated main courtyard wall, which provides security and serenity. There are no neighbors close to the ranch, we are offset from the end of the road cul de sac by nearly 1/4 mile. The pool is located in the backyard of the main house and is suitable for use from Memorial day through Labor day. The wildflower gardens enhance the sights and smells of Western Colorado as well as providing ample food for butterflies, honey bees and Humming birds. Several runs of grape vines line the pasture fence at the back of the property. There are many ways to enjoy walks and bike rides along the Highline canal and local roads as traffic is minimal in our area. Wildlife viewing is readily available, mule deer, coyotes and birds including a family of red tail hawks call Bookcliff Ranch home. On special occassions Golden eagles and Bald Eagles are seen. The Casita is best suited for 2 adults and 2 children or 3 adults, 2 of which could share a bed. Additional guests will be charged a one time fee of $35.00.

My husband and I needed a safe, comfortable place to stop on our way moving across country and we got just that! The hosts met us upon arrival and were so kind and hospitable! Comfortable bed, shower, and so quiet! :) would definitely come back!
We had such a lovely time at this property! It was quiet, and the area was gorgeous. Very well maintained, we had everything we needed for a relaxing stay.
What an amazing weekend. The owner was so helpful as i have never been there before. Gave us some amazing information on some great places to visiting. I will for sure be staying there again.
This was an absolutely great property. The property owner was really nice and more than helpful. I would highly recommend staying here. The grounds are amazing, clean and very relaxing.
Thank you for the lovely stay. It was very peaceful and cozy for two adults and a toddler. Communication was great, we appreciate the kindness shown towards us. The pool was fun, and the bed was very comfortable.
Thanks so much for the overnight stay. We loved the location and room was just as pictured. So nice and peaceful. We visited Colorado National monument the next morning and Wow, don't miss that...great hike and views. Thanks, Rob for such a nice stay. We will be back.
Krista was there to greet me and show me around the casita. The property was darling, clean and welcoming. It has a "home away from home" feel. Getting around to local businesses and outdoor adventure destinations was a breeze.
Rob met us on our way in. He is super friendly and accommodating! We had everything we needed and more! Very easy access to Fruita, Grand Junction, and Palisade. Loved staying there. Thank you Rob and Krista for your amazing hospitality!
Rob and Krista have a really special place that is comfy and cozy and had everything as listed. They were very attentive to my needs and had great communication. After booking they gave detailed instructions on how to find the location and check into the property. Krista greeted me upon arrival and showed me the lovely little casita and how to use appliances. I would definitely consider coming back!
Rob and Krista were super accommodating. I didn't have a crate to put my dog Titan in, but they were flexible and let him go without. Titan met their dog and enjoyed going on off-leash walks around the property.
Was looking for a quiet spot to hike during the day and see lots of stars at night. This casita was perfection. A short 15 mins drive to Colorado Natl Monument & McInnis. Owners are very kind and accommodating. Would 100% stay here again.
The perfect “home away from home.” Stunning property off the beaten path. The casita was immaculate and very comfortable. It had everything we needed to be comfortable. Just bring your food if you don’t plan to eat out every meal. The owners were friendly and helpful. We could not have had a better experience! And the sweetest dog greeted us everyday.

About the host
Hosted by Rob and Krista Bonino
We are both retired from the US Army and recent residents to the area. This area offers dozens of chances to enjoy the outdoors and explore new and different sights. We moved from western Kentucky to escape the heat and oppressively high humidity. We found that climate here, in addition to the climate this area has an excellent school system and a safe and stable community where kids can walk or ride bikes nearly any place and feel safe.
Why they chose this property
Quiet, serene and off the beaten path. Full of amenities and DOG friendly. Our property is gated and safe for family pets. There is a one time $25.00 pet fee.
What makes this property unique
Close to so many outdoor activities and opportunities you may never see or experience all the trails and venues in and around Fruita. The views from nearly every spot on the property are unrivaled, from the Colorado National Monument to the west to the Bookcliffs to the east the North Fruita desert and mountains to the much to see and do! The ranch house sits nearly centered on the 100+ acre property and is quiet at night and dark enough for some excellent star gazing.
