About this property
Cwmtawel, Holiday Cottage Ceibwr Bay, Sleeps 4, 3 bedrooms, bathrooms
Cwmtawel is a wonderful characterful cottage set in a stunning valley, bordering a stream, just 300 yards from the sea at Ceibwr Bay.Step into the hallway with its useful and practical utility come boot room, this leads through to the open plan living space with its rustic kitchen, the Rayburn ensures a cosy feel and is the heart of the kitchen. Enjoy meals around the dining table or curl up on the sofa beside the wood burning stove on those chillier evenings. From here a door opens with steps down to the garden. There is a second sitting room with French doors opening onto a small paved terrace which overlooks the stream, a perfect spot to sit and listen to the stream as it gurgles its way to the sea. Stairs from the living space lead up to the bedrooms and shower room above, the double bedroom and one of the single bedrooms look out to sea. There are a number of small terraces and benches set around the house, and up the hillside, where you can relax and enjoy the birdsong. Uneven steps lead to a gravelled terrace with a picnic bench where you can dine alfresco while you admire the stunning sea view. You are welcome to wander the owners 13 acres, the bluebell wood is a magical spot in the spring.Perfect for keen walkers, the area abounds in footpaths, head up the valley following the stream and be amazed by the wild flowers including rare Orchids and beautiful butterflies, the bird and wildlife will take your breath away.If you can bear to tear yourself away from the unspoilt Ceibwr Bay, take to the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path and head to the Witches’ Cauldron, a natural phenomenon where a cave has collapsed, showing vibrant green waters, a regular haunt of seals. This section of the coastal path is dramatic with rugged cliffs and breath-taking views, make your way to the seaside town of Newport on the mouth of the tidal estuary of the River Nevern with its golden sandy beach and range of shops, pubs and restaurants or hike in the opposite direction to the magnificent Poppit Sands Beach and St Dogmaels, the start of the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path. Alternatively, take to the water, ideal for keen kayakers or for the adventurous try some coasteering. As well as Newport, where there is a golf course overlooking the sea, the market town of Cardigan is well worth a visit too with its range of independent shops, pubs and restaurants to explore. The popular café at the Penrallt Garden Centre can be reached by footpath from the house.Cwmtawel offers something truly unique, a chance to get close to nature and enjoy a slower pace of life while you explore this special coastal area of North Pembrokeshire whatever time of the year.More photographs coming soon!
