About this property
Impressive Country Home close to North York Moors
Rudby Hall is an impressive, historic property set in the North Yorkshire countryside, close to the North York Moors. Built in 1838 for a daughter of King William IV, the Hall is close to 200 years old but still in fine condition, with many modern amenities woven sympathetically into the historic interior. You will feel a sense of tranquility and restfulness as soon as you arrive in the entrance hall with its original tiling, fireplace panelling, doors and tiles.
Rooms
Rudby Hall has 13 luxuriously appointed bedrooms over two floors and a tower - all with private bathrooms, many with impressive windows and views of the grounds and Cleveland Hills. Rooms on the first floor also have original wood panels - a perfect substitute for black-out curtains. Luxurious bedlinen and towels are included, as are toiletries. All rooms have king size or super-king bed apart from one room with 2 x double beds. Several rooms have sofa-beds allowing for a total occupancy of 32 people. For anyone needing to work there is an office with a separate, secure LAN connection and printer. All rooms have a breakfast table and at least 2 chairs.
Grounds
Ten acres of grounds surround the Hall - there is a river, a stream, woodland and grassland to explore. In the evening, you can watch the rabbits run about the lawn, hear owls calling and might even see deer passing through. Our willow tree is *the* place for afternoon tea - you can sit under its canopy for hours and forget about the world. Next to the willow tree is a our croquet lawn - perfect for a leisurely afternoon activity, or you can go on walks beyond the estate - we will show you where to go.
Facilities
There are two large function rooms on the ground floor (drawing room and library)> each room is 70 sq m and have high ceilings, wooden floors, ornamental fireplaces and windows overlooking the grounds. They can be used for a variety of activities. A super-comfortable lounge is also on the ground floor, with sofas, armchairs, tables and a working fireplace. There is a quirky bar with wine fridge at the bottom of the stairs. Exclusive hire of the Hall and grounds gives you access to the large kitchen and all facilities therein, including an Aga oven, microwave, air fryer, induction hob, fridges and freezers, washing and drying machines, all cutlery and crockery.
Location
Rudby Hall is located on the border of North Yorkshire and the Tees Valley. There is an abundance of nearby attractions - from historic monuments to adventure golf and white-water rafting. Teesside International Airport is about 12 miles away, and the Hall is just 4 miles of the A19. It is about 30 mins to the seaside town of Saltburn. There are several entry points to the North York Moors within 15 mins driving.
