About this property
Rock Cove - Four Bedroom House, Sleeps 8
Set close to the village of Cove on the Rosenath Peninsula, this breathtaking property sleeps eight adults, with a little bit more space for two young ones. Designed by architects Cameron Webster, it has already received its first architectural award. At high tide it cantilevers over the water! There is a hotel restaurant virtually next door and the beautiful village of Cove with its country store and sailing club is just over a mile away. Kilcreggan (2.5 miles) has a lovely pub and you can catch the ferry to Greenock from here. Helensburgh, where you’ll find Charles Rennie Mackintosh’s Hill House, is 16 miles away. The Rosneath Peninsula offers great cycling, running, pony trekking and walking. On Loch Long (3 miles), you can kayak, open water swim, take a fast rib, or sail. Loch Lomond has world class golf, more water activities, hiking and boat trips (22 miles).
Every detail has been considered in the stone, timber and glass design of this stunning house. Glazed sliding doors from all four en-suite bedrooms, and two huge sliding doors from the living room, allow you to live inside out! From the car park a well-lit wheelchair accessible path leads to the covered entrance and glass front door, opening onto a bright hallway, cloakroom and WC. Turn left up a very wide sky lit corridor which doubles as a gallery with some stunning aboriginal paintings. Four identical super-king-size en-suite bedrooms are to your right. They all open out onto a coastal garden and you can sit outside each room and enjoy your morning coffee. The rooms all have views out over the loch. To the right is a utility room and a study/playroom with a picture window overlooking the sea, as well as a Smart TV and a sofa bed that sleeps two young ones. Keen chefs will delight in the stylish, streamlined kitchen/dining area, which leads to the living space with a large U-shaped designer sofa and a wood-burner-effect electric fire to supplement the underfloor heating. A state of the art 75’’ TV and Sonos sound bar provide the audio visuals. The living area sits above the shoreline with glorious, uninterrupted views of the sea and sky.
Outside, light the fire pit, or fire up the BBQ and watch the sun go down across the water from a seating area carved into the rocks. Spend evenings relaxing in the sauna which must have one of the best views in Scotland, or soak in the privacy of the hot tub and its infinity views of sea and stars.
