About this property
Elegant Victorian Apartment in Glasgow's West End
Summary:
This elegant Victorian Period three bedroom flat is located in Hyndland a true gem in the heart of Glasgow’s fashionable and historic West End. Located at the top of the hill in a quiet tree lined street, the apartment has unrivalled breathtaking views across the Westend skyline. This stunning flat has six spacious rooms retaining many original features, including period fireplaces in each room, hardwood floors, and corniced high ceilings. All rooms are wonderfully peaceful and private.
The Space:
A true home away from home with all the amenities you need to settle in and enjoy just being in the city and having your own family home in Glasgow. The flat was part of the mansion flats built at the turn of the 20th century - so the rooms are extra large with high ceilings. It is furnished with period furniture and has an elegant country estate aesthetic. Many guests have compared it to Downton Abbey (just smaller). The BBC has filmed here twice.
Fully equipped kitchen, with separate laundry room (washer and dryer). Two dining options: a family kitchen table for casual dining, or enjoy the separate formal dining room. Sainsbury's Local less than a 3 minute walk from the flat.
Guest Access:
Guests will have full access to the entire property throughout their stay, including all rooms and amenities. Check-in details, including access instructions and key collection, will be shared in advance via our electronic guidebook link to ensure a smooth arrival.
The Neighborhood:
Queensborough Gardens is located in the highly sought-after Hyndland area in Glasgow’s leafy West End—an elegant, residential neighbourhood known for its quiet streets, period architecture, and vibrant community atmosphere.
The area is characterised by beautiful Victorian and Edwardian sandstone townhouses and leafy avenues, creating a peaceful yet stylish setting. Despite its residential feel, Queensborough Gardens is just minutes away from the buzz of Byres Road—home to some of Glasgow’s best-loved cafes, bars, restaurants, and boutique shops. The popular Cottiers Theatre, set in a converted church, offers live performances and a charming beer garden nearby.
Hyndland itself has a village-like charm, with independent shops, delis, artisan bakeries, and coffee spots lining Hyndland Road. There’s a strong sense of community, and it’s popular with professionals, academics, and families alike.
For green space, residents and visitors can enjoy nearby Kelvingrove Park or the Botanic Gardens, both offering beautiful walking paths, picnic spots, and riverside views.
Getting Around:
By Car:
From Glasgow City Centre, take the M8 westbound and exit at Junction 17 for Great Western Road (A82). Follow Great Western Road for about 10 minutes. Turn left onto Hyndland Road, then left onto Queensborough Gardens. Free on-street parking is typically available, but always check local restrictions.
By Train:
The nearest station is Hyndland Station, just a 5-minute walk from the property. Trains run frequently from Glasgow Queen Street and Central Stations, taking around 10–15 minutes. Exit the station onto Novar Drive, turn right onto Hyndland Road, and then left onto Queensborough Gardens.
By Subway:
Board the Glasgow Subway (Clockwork Orange) to Hillhead or Partick station, both about a 15–20 minute walk or a short bus/taxi ride away.
By Bus:
Multiple buses travel along Great Western Road and Hyndland Road, including the 4, 6, and M4 routes. Alight near Hyndland Road, then walk to Queensborough Gardens.
From Glasgow Airport:
A taxi from the airport takes approx. 20 minutes, or take the airport bus to the city centre, then transfer via train or subway.
The location is easily accessible yet tucked away in a peaceful, residential West End setting.
Other Things to Note:
We can arrange the rental of a high chair and travel cot upon request during your stay.
Please note, check-in is not available on 25th December and 1st January.
