About this property
Historic Lower Garden District Apt. - 1 1/2 blocks from Mardi Gras parades
LONG-TERM/MONTHLY RENTERS Tastefully furnished 1 bedroom, 1 & 1/2 bathroom apartment within historic 1850s Italianate home just 1 & 1/2 blocks from St. Charles Avenue/uptown Mardi Gras parade routes in New Orleans' historic Lower Garden District. Half a block from Coliseum Square Park. Close to Magazine Street restaurants, shopping, and more. Walking distance to French Quarter.
ENTRY
The apartment is accessed through an ‘alley way’ off the side of the main house and through the side yard (which is currently a work-in-progress). The apartment has its own separate entrance. Once you open the door, you climb the staircase up to the second floor of the home.
SECOND FLOOR LEVEL/MAIN LIVING AREA
The main area features a large open living room furnished with modern art and a tasteful combination of genuine mid-20th century furniture and 19th century antiques, as well as some contemporary additions. The living room has a Joybird sleeper sofa with a queen-size memory foam mattress and a flat screen TV. The open kitchen is complete with a salvaged cypress island that comfortably seats two, a Wolf gas stove/oven, 2 dish washer drawers, a farm-house sink, and plenty of cabinets, which are stocked with your basic cooking needs. Behind the kitchen is the pantry, which houses the stacked washer/dryer, refrigerator, and microwave. There is also a small powder room with sink and toilet and a small balcony that runs the length of the living room/kitchen with 2 chairs and a table.
THIRD FLOOR LEVEL
The upper level houses the master bathroom which features an over-sized shower and, a few steps further up, the bedroom, which has a Queen size bed, a small closet and a chest-of-drawers. Both spaces feel spacious despite the sloping ceilings.
FURNISHINGS AND ART WORK
From time to time, the furnishings and artwork shown in the listing photos may change, be updated, or be improved upon. While we will make every effort to update the photos for any significant changes, we cannot guarantee that they will be updated for insignificant ones.
AMENITIES
Street parking is usually available. When it's tricky (possibly during Mardi Gras) there is almost always parking 1/2 block away on Coliseum Square Park.
