Best neighborhood in america

We had a wonderful stay in Rye. The home in a private and quite neighborhood with lovely old growth foresr. A stream and little traffic. The homes are beautiful and stately, full of charecter. But within a short 8 minute walk you are in town or at the train. Couldn't ask for better. The home is large and spacious, the lot is beaitful, we really appreciated the different rooms that gave flexibility for our family. The communication with the owner was top notch and check-in was seamless.

Why they chose this property

RRye is a historic coastal town just outside New York City, celebrated for its classic colonial charm. Rye Beach and Oakland Beach are just 1.7 miles from the property, offering beach access, swimming pools, and lively waterfront restaurants.

This period home, built in 1925, is set in one of Rye’s most desirable neighborhoods. It’s just a 0.3-mile walk to downtown and only 0.4 miles from the Rye Metro-North station, making commuting to Manhattan both simple and efficient.

The town is steeped in history, with national landmarks such as the Boston Post Road Historic District and the Jay Estate, childhood home of John Jay, a Founding Father and the first Chief Justice of the United States. Rye is also home to Playland, a landmark Art Deco amusement park and National Historic Landmark. Playland features the iconic Dragon Coaster, one of the oldest wooden roller coasters in the Northeast, along with a beach, public pool, and seaside dining.

Rye offers outstanding summer camp options for children of all ages at the Rye YMCA, Rye Recreation, the Rye Nature Center, and The Rye Arts Center. These programs provide excellent value and a rich mix of indoor and outdoor activities—including swimming. Most are within walking distance or just a short drive from the home.

What makes this property unique

Our classic center-hall Colonial, surrounded by mature oaks, blooming hydrangeas, and a spacious lawn, is nestled in a private community on the edge of town. Located in one of Rye’s most sought-after neighborhoods, the home is perfect for families—with plenty of space, even for visiting grandparents—and set on a quiet street with no through traffic, making it ideal for children.

Just a five-minute walk from restaurants, shopping, and the train to NYC, the location offers both convenience and tranquility. You can easily bike to the beach and nearby parks. A weekly cleaning service is included for your comfort. We are typically fully booked.
