About this property
The Old House Apartment
Wonderful spacious apartment with large double bedroom, separate living room with sofa and kitchen area, private bathroom and shower room.
Ideal for long weekends or long term stays. The apartment is a completely self-contained section of our large Tudor house dating from 1525. We live in the main section of the house with our two children.
The apartment is spacious and has big touch of history thrown in. You'll be sleeping in a room where people have slept for around 500 years!
This is a completely self-contained apartment on the first floor of an historic Tudor house dating back to 1525.
The apartment consists of:
1 - Large bedroom with huge super-king size bed
1 - Living room with sofa, TV and kitchen area.
1 - Bathroom with bath
1 - Shower room with shower.
The living room is really cosy and the sofa pulls out to make snuggling down in front of the TV or reading a book even more enjoyable. It's not however a sofa bed and we cannot accommodate people sleeping on the sofa sorry.
The kitchen area of the living room contains:
Kettle, toaster, plug in induction hob, fridge/freezer, sink and all the necessary pots, pans, crockery and cutlery etc. It has everything you need for basic heating and small scale cooking. But if you're looking to make Michelin star meals you'll be better off exploring Shrewsbury's restaurants!
The bedroom is completely wood panelled and has a huge lose-your-partner super-king sized bed.
You have your own separate entrance to the apartment.
The apartment forms part of our large Grade II star listed Tudor house. We live in the main section of the house along with our two children and pet tortoise :)
We do also offer tours of our private section of the house to guests during their stay. This is subject to availability and for a small additional fee. Do ask when booking if this is of interest to you.
The apartment works really well for long weeks or long term stays. The location is fantastic - right in the heart of Shrewsbury.
The property is ideal for individuals or couples. We also have a travel cot at no extra cost for babies and we have a few other baby things like changing matt. We can't however accommodate toddlers or children I'm sorry.
We're also open to house swap proposals (both for the entire house or just the apartment) in exchange for places abroad. Drop us a line if of interest.
Guest access
You'll have private use of the entire apartment which has its own external entrance. So you'll be able to come and go as you please.
Other things to note
Stairs:
The property is on the 1st floor and can only be accessed by a flight of stairs. Therefore it is not suitable for people that cannot cope with steps and stairs sorry.
Parking:
If you're travelling by car, there is paid parking in car parks just a few mins walk from the house. Prices are from just £7.95 for 24hrs.
There is a free loading bay outside the property to unload/load your belongings.
You can look into parking options by searching online for:
NCP Wyle Cop Car Park (3 min walk)
St Julian's Friars Car Park (4 min walk)
Prince Rupert Hotel Car Park (2 min walk but more expensive)
Abbey Foregate Car Park (6 min walk - cheapest option).
Free on street parking is available around a pleasant 10 min walk away.
