About this property
Beautiful writer's loft-style apartment near Portobello Rd
Beautiful loft-style writer's apartment on the top floor of a Victorian pub (now Tesco). Great location near Portobello Road/Ladbroke Grove within walking distance of White City, the newest Soho House. High-ceilinged living room kitchen opens onto a south-facing flower-filled terrace. Spacious bedroom with super-king size bed (comfy). Antique claw-foot bath with roll-top cover. Top-of-the-range dishwasher and washing machine. Plenty of books and music - 2nd floor - access via stairs.
The accommodation
My super king-size bed is very, very comfortable. There is a chaise longue for reading, a sofa, and an old armchair upholstered in antique velvet. Very good Wi-Fi, I also have an excellent record collection for wonderful music and an analog hi-fi. Good connection to the city center, Latimer Road tube station and White City tube station ten and thirteen minutes away and a bus from right outside the door. Please note that this is bohemian in style and charmingly frayed around the edges (the sofa needs to be recovered!)… If you want modern that cleans easily. This is not the property for you. NB: THE INTERIOR HAS BEEN IMPROVED SINCE THE PHOTOS (more ART and knick-knacks since the photos). NB: No use of my apartment for filming/photography without written permission! ABSOLUTELY NO PARTIES OR GUESTS OTHER THAN THOSE WHO HAVE BOOKED
Passenger access
Roof terrace and the entire apartment except the attic space are available to the guest - any visitors must be checked in advance with me, thank you.
Other remarks
This apartment is on the second floor and accessible by the STAIRS.
The charm of this apartment is that it is a house full of strange old things, books and knick-knacks. The bathtub is old, the taps are old, there is a rip in the sofa fabric, patina and marks on the old wooden surfaces, the curtains are flimsy (although effective).
PLEASE WATER THE SUNNY GARDEN.
72 hours without water and the flowers die…
(plug the hose into the kitchen tap, pull the spring-loaded brass ring down and click it onto the kitchen tap attachment)
Nottinghill/Ladbroke Grove is a racially diverse area and that is the main reason why it is so special… If you don't want to see and experience the signs, smells and sounds of other cultures… then please, this may not be the place for you.
However, the bed is extremely comfortable and most people find this space very cozy... If you like that kind of bohemian style, you'll love my apartment, but if you're looking for clean lines, molded plastic, and shiny new things... This isn't the place for you.
