We had a lovely stay. Very peaceful and quiet. The oven buttons were “broken” in such a way that it made me uncomfortable to press them. They work but there is a hole on one that you kinda reach into it to press. Otherwise the stay was great. The hot tub is fabulous especially in the cold winter! It was so easy to find and not far from being able to go and explore other areas. It was only 2 of us with 2 dogs but we would have no problem bringing our 3 kids and still having ample space. It was a great house!

Thank you so much for your kind review! We’re thrilled to hear you enjoyed the peaceful setting and that the hot tub was a highlight — winter soaks really are the best ❄️😊
We also truly appreciate you mentioning the oven button. You’re absolutely right — while it was still functional, it wasn’t ideal. A previous guest pressed the cancel button too forcefully and punctured the outer cover, which is why there’s a small hole even though it still works properly. We are happy to share that we are replacing the stove to ensure everything is in top condition for future guests as we maintain all 8 of our vacation rentals. This hole just happened prior to this guest staying.😔 It was a good Maytag stove too, repair would cost about the same as a new one sadly. Oh well.
It’s wonderful to know the home felt spacious and comfortable for you (and even roomy enough for the kids next time!). We’d love to welcome you and your family — pups included — back anytime. Thanks again for staying with us!

Liked: Cleanliness, amenities, property conditions & facilities, communication
We loved the place even if it was a short time! We will want to come back.
The Beach Haus was perfect for my needs. Spacious living, dining area. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything I needed for meal preparation. The glassed area facing the lake was, for me, a real bonus. There is plenty of closet space and while the bedrooms are a little small, they are furnished and decorated nicely.
lovely cottage-truly everything you need included! comfy beds, lots of everything, shaded beautiful view and close to everything Gaylord has to offer. Communication with Dorene was a breeze and we look forward to staying at another one of her properties!
The property had a beautiful view of the fall colors across the lake, the hot tub was wonderful, the area is very peaceful. We will come next time when the dock available for better fishing. The paddle boat was a joy. House had everything we needed.
Very nice place to spend a week. Everything worked well, nIce bathroom, all kitchen appliances and silverware supplied, Beach was small and lake was a bit mucky. The large couch could use an upgrade soon. Everything else was great and we had a wonderful time. We would go there again.

I'm glad these guests enjoyed themselves. Cottage gets lots of repeat guests all the time. All beaches are smaller due to high water levels all over the country, Otsego lake being 4 feet extra than previous year so unfortunately all beaches all over the country are smaller. Sectional is being replaced this weekend actually. Arm broke due to a guest in the past sitting on the edge and broke it sadly so we will just replace the whole sectional with black leather one...pictures to be updated accordingly

Disliked: Check-in
TLC Required throughout the Cottage.
Check-In was Fine.Kitchen was acceptable.Dock needs new boards. Shower Doors should be replaced. Steps to Dock are Treacherous needs another step or a Handrail.Cottage floor East to West is like a Trampoline and the Grill is a DISASTER - take it to the Dump

Guest broke house rules had unregistered guests and did property damage. Got this review when we called him out on it all and gave evidence proof to him and vrbo for investigation in platform for all to read. Sad that we welcomed him into our home
We really enjoyed using the hot tub and building fires in the wood burning stove. It was winter so the neighborhood was quiet. We had a beautiful view of the lake and drove to the other side to see the pretty sunset. It was close to Gaylord so if you needed anything it was right there! We had great communication with the owners so that was a giant plus! The house was pretty well stocked but don't forget your beach towels! Over all we would definitely go back!

Awesome thank you! Our place is on Sunrise side as advertised, if you do need sunset though, we do have a few other places on sunset side of lakes. beach towels are brought out at summer as there is no need for them when the lake is frozen. We have 12 bath towels for bath and hot tub already for the other three seasons plus beach towels at summer👍

Completely stocked cozy lakeside home.
We had a relaxing week at this comfortable lakeside home. It was very clean with everything we needed. Too cool for water sports, but kayaks were available if it warmed up. Sandy beach and dock were available for a boat which could be rented at reasonable rates locally. The only improvement could be an update of the mattresses. Otherwise, very nice accommodations and overall environment. We look forward to our next stay.

I'm glad these guests enjoyed themselves. We listen to the guests and we did put in a brand new super comfortable queen size mattress set just now for the master bedroom as we always wanted to get rid of that platform bed anyways, and replace it with our log headboard bed, no one ever mentioned it was uncomfortable though. It just took up too much room having foot boards to run into while walking around the bed. We will use that mattress elsewhere. We just have always had guests coming and going same day at this home so it was hard to switch over:-) All good now!
The property was very nice and clean. We loved the hot tub and rides in the paddle boat. My husband enjoyed fishing off the dock even though we soon learned that the lake wasn't great for fishing as it was very shallow. Great location, only an hour drive to different tourist spots, like Petoskey, traverse city, and Mackinac. Dorene was a great host and she had great communication and was very accommodating when we had an issue with the dishwasher. The only thing I'd suggest is allowing for shorter minimum night stays, 7 nights was a little too long for us. Other than that, we really enjoyed our stay!

I am so happy Alicia and her family enjoyed their time in Gaylord. We offer short stays during spring fall and winter. Summer months have always been 7 nights, Saturday to Saturday for all my Gaylord lakefronts since 2008 when I first started renting homes. I do offer less than a week stays in summer for two cabins in Gaylord, across from lakes, etc.

Very nice!
There is only 1 item I would like to see updated. The sofa bed is functional but is hard to set up and put away. We slept on the sofa bed one night but we did have a air mattress and used that the other two. The positives far out way the negatives. I would recommend this place to anyone. Dorene is very easy to work with and the place was nice and clean when we arrived. I will not hesitate to stay here again.
We will definitely be repeat guests. Between the price, amenities, cleanliness and customer experience with Doreen, this was hands down one of the best rentals I’ve encountered in the last 10 years of renting. We look forward to returning in the summer. The Gaylord area is beautiful and full of activities. Thank you again for your wonderful hospitality!
Everything was as expected the hosts really have thought of everything you need.
This is a 3rd time i have rented from thebproperty manager and all have been EXCELLENT! We will continue to be return custmers. They make everything so easy.
