About this property
Characterful property overlooking a stunning Estate
Country-cottage charm is what you'll find when you arrive at Bluebell Cottage. This former farm-workers cottage on the Underley Estate near Kirkby Lonsdale has been elegantly refurbished to a high standard, leaving you wanting for nothing on your family holiday.
This is a special property that has been restored to show its original character and to add all the most modern of conveniences and comforts - how do you like the idea of a soak in the amazing clawfoot bath before relaxing in front of the logburner, or on the outdoor furniture, if it's warm? With two spacious bedrooms, comprising a Kingsize (en-suite) and a twin, Bluebell Cottage is perfectly suited for families or perhaps friends on holiday together, and, as with all the cottages on the Underley Estate, Bluebell Cottage is dog-friendly, too.
You'll be spoilt for a choice of places to eat in nearby Kirkby Lonsdale, which is walkable (approx 1 mile); however, if you fancy stopping in, you'll have no issues cooking a hearty family meal or better yet, why not have a barbeque in the garden?
The Underley Estate benefits from approximately 1.5 miles of private water access to the picturesque River Lune, including pools such as the Broken Banks and Catamaran. Guests can try fly fishing on the River Lune, which is renowned for salmon in September and October and sea trout during the summer. Fishing is by prior arrangement; an additional fee applies and tackle can be hired on the estate.
If fishing isn't your thing, you can try clay pigeon shooting or perhaps explore one of the many walks and footpaths over the fields and through the woods. Many of the walks are only accessible to guests staying on the estate.
To make your stay that little bit more special, add a food hamper to be delivered to your cottage for your arrival.
Overall, Bluebell Cottage is a fantastic choice for a holiday, whether a relaxing stay-at-the-cottage holiday or a walking holiday with both Lake District and Yorkshire Dales national parks nearby.
