About this property

3 Bed in Hawes (oc-ds242)

Offering flexible accommodation for six, this tastefully furnished farmhouse offers stunning views over sheep-grazed fields from every room. Less than half a mile from Hawes, it’s in a great location for exploring the Dales and Lake District, before returning to your gorgeous enclosed garden.

Follow the farm track from the road to Hawes and, amid a patchwork of fields, you’ll arrive at your destination – this stunning stone farmhouse is definitely in a lovely setting! Inside, it’s been fully modernised yet retains original character and charm with open fires, a pitch pine staircase and a fine collection of furniture. Both the lounge and dining room have a TV/DVD player (there’s a library of more than 200 family-friendly DVDs to choose from) along with an open fire – fuel is provided if you want to unwind or dine in front of flickering flames. With a selection of seating, well-dressed windows and a soothing colour palette, each of these rooms will be a place where you can enjoy your downtime. In the mood to get creative? The kitchen here is sure to inspire every cook, with a Range cooker and just about every utensil you could wish for. A spacious shower room completes the ground-floor layout. Upstairs, the ability of the property to suit any holiday party becomes even more apparent, beginning in the main bathroom which features a beautiful roll-top bath – enjoy views of the Dales as you lie back – and a large separate shower. Three similarly styled bedrooms continue this theme: one has a double bed, and the others each have a super-king-size bed which can be made up, on request, as two singles. One of these rooms also has its own en-suite bathroom with a shower over its roll-top bath. To fully immerse yourself in the landscape, step out into the garden, which is enclosed and comes complete with outdoor furniture so you can sit and listen to the sounds of sheep in the fields close by.

Walk the trails close to the house or, if you simply want a wander around the highest market town in England, Hawes is less than half a mile away. The town's market is held every Tuesday selling a great selection of locally produced food and drink. However, if you can't wait until then to sample some of the area's lovely food, pay a visit to the Wensleydale Creamery (0.5 miles), located just on the outskirts of the town to see how the famous cheese is made (and try a bit for yourself!). For lovers of the outdoors, there are many fantastic walks in the area such as the Hawes Mosaic Trail and circular walks to nearby Aysgarth Falls (10 miles), a stunning waterfall over limestone steps.
