Walkers and cyclists will want to head into the surrounding Simonside Hills for long hikes and trails. Magnificent Alnwick Castle is just 12 miles away, and the coast at Alnmouth is 16.5 miles, where there’s a sandy beach, an excellent golf course and a pretty village to explore.
