About this property
4 Bed in Nottage (oc-t28401)
An impressive period barn conversion in a popular village just 1 mile from Rest Bay, one of many popular attractions found along the South Wales Coast. Blessed with original features and offering large, naturally lit living areas, a secluded courtyard garden and easy access to cultural, historic and natural attractions, this dog-friendly barn is the ideal base for a family holiday.
The barn, which dates back to 1826, is set off a quiet road that runs through the centre of Nottage. It has lost none of its original character in being brought up to modern standards, with exposed beams and stone walls blending seamlessly with contemporary soft furnishings and Velux windows that bring warmth to the first floor throughout the day. There is plenty of room for guests to gather together in the lounge/diner, as well as a cosy snug for all-important “me time”. There are plenty of seating options in the open-plan kitchen/diner, including a large island/breakfast bar. A handy utility room stands nearby. Equally convenient is the en-suite double bedroom accessed via these stairs. A spacious family bathroom and three bedrooms, all doubles, stand just off the first-floor landing. Each bedroom enjoys ample storage, with one home to an en-suite shower room. A secluded courtyard garden offers a perch for morning coffees, al fresco meals and nightcaps.
The centre of Nottage (200 metres) offers a range of pubs and eateries, with miles of walking routes nearby to take guests to Porthcawl (1 mile) and elsewhere. Porthcawl is known for its sandy beach and cultural attractions, with the Kenfig Nature Reserve (2.5 miles) connecting visitors with nature. History lovers should head to Ogmore Castle (8 miles), a picturesque ruin located near the confluence of the River Ogmore and River Ewenny.
