About this property
4 Bed in Wareham (oc-r30563)
This idyllic four-bedroom cottage enjoys a waterside setting on the River Frome, in Dorset’s picturesque market town of Wareham. The property boasts stunning views across the river, as well as the distant Purbeck Hills, and is the perfect base for family and friends looking to get out and about in nature. Enjoy riverside walks directly from the property or get out on the water in a rowing boat or on a paddleboard. You’ll be just 200 metres from Wareham’s bustling quay. Here, you’ll find an array of independent pubs and restaurants, many offering outdoor seating overlooking the water. In summer months, you can hop on a river cruise or enjoy an excursion on one of the pleasure boats to Poole Harbour. For a traditional day at the seaside, journey into Swanage, 10 miles away. Hire one of the colourful beach huts for the day, visit the Victorian pier, and potter around the cute gift shops. Nearby attractions include Corfe Castle and the steam trains of the Swanage Railway (both within 5 miles).
The cottage has been decorated and furnished to an exceptionally high standard and is bursting with character thanks to exposed beams and brickwork and a unique collection of artwork and accessories. At the heart of the home is a striking lounge/kitchen/diner where you can all come together after a day of adventure. The kitchen area, which features gorgeous granite worktops and high-specification equipment, is a joy to cook in, and the elegant dining area is perfect for hosting dinner parties and special occasions. A flight of wooden stairs leads up to the mezzanine lounge area, where you can unwind in front of a film on the Smart TV or simply sit back and enjoy the views of the river. There are three stunning king-size bedrooms on the ground floor, one of which can be made up as a twin on request. One of the bedrooms has an en-suite shower room, and there is also a family bathroom on this level. The final bedroom is upstairs on the first floor and is a delightful double room with relaxing rural views and its own en-suite shower room.
Outside, you’ll find a sunny courtyard with furniture for al fresco dining. Lawns lead down to the river and a private quay where you can moor your boat. From the garden, steps lead to a boat store with direct access onto the River Frome. Private parking is available for two cars.
