About this property
The Old Manse, Middleham
The Old Manse, situated in the historic market town of Middleham is an exceptional example of a Grade II listed property dating back to the 18th century. Offering eight guests, four beautifully presented bedrooms, each with the luxury of their very own en suite bath or shower room, complimented by views of Middleham Castle, The Old Manse makes for the perfect family holiday in the Yorkshire Dales.
Guests enter via the welcoming reception hall, immediately giving an indication of the tasteful accommodation and period features on offer whilst enjoying time spent with those closest to you. Benefiting from ground floor underfloor heating, each room leading off to either the right or left is light and spacious; the sitting room gives guests the opportunity to all relax in front of the period stone fire surround with wood burning stove and Samsung art frame television, whilst the open plan dining kitchen is the heart of The Old Manse, with ample space for all guests to enjoy an evening at the dining table. To the rear of the hallway is a very useful utility and boot room, just before you head out into the walled garden.
The original staircase leads to a half landing with feature window which enjoys views over the rear garden and Middleham Castle. The first floor landing leads to both bedrooms three and four whilst bedrooms one and two can be found on the second floor via the split landing. Bedroom three houses, a 6' super-king size bed (can also be converted into twin beds), a dressing room and en suite bathroom. The remaining three bedrooms each offer a 5' king-size bed, en suite and views either over towards the castle or the upper market square.
To the rear, a fully enclosed garden can be enjoyed throughout the warmer months with comfortable seating for eights guests, patio and barbecue, perfect for alfresco dining. Should guests seek to leave the apron strings at home, wander down into the town and spend the evening at one of the many pubs serving local fayre. As many will know, Middleham, is famous for its racehorses and trainers, so for those enthusiasts don't hesitate and take a morning walk up onto the top moor for a sneak peek at morning training before venturing out for the day.
