Nestled in the quiet countryside of Temple Bruer, this inviting shepherd’s hut offers the perfect base for exploring one of the most intriguing and lesser-known corners of Lincolnshire. The surrounding landscape is open, peaceful, and wonderfully atmospheric, shaped by a rich medieval history. Just a short drive away lies the historic city of Lincoln, where you can wander the cobbled streets of the Cathedral Quarter, visit the magnificent cathedral and castle, or enjoy the independent shops and eateries that line Steep Hill.
Closer to the hut, the countryside is dotted with walking and cycling routes, making it easy to immerse yourself in rural tranquillity. The remains of the Knights Templar preceptory give Temple Bruer its name and make for a fascinating local landmark to explore. Nearby villages such as Navenby and Wellingore offer charming pubs, boutiques, and convenient essentials. Whether you’re seeking quiet rambles, stargazing in wide-open skies, or leisurely days discovering Lincolnshire’s heritage, this location offers a calm retreat with plenty to see and do at your own pace.
The shepherd’s hut itself is thoughtfully designed for comfort, functionality, and relaxation. This single-storey space features a cosy studio layout with a separate king-size bed area to ensure restful nights. The well-equipped kitchen includes a single-ring induction hob, microwave, slow cooker, air fryer, fridge, toaster, and kettle, perfect for preparing simple meals after a day of exploring. A modern shower room provides a shower, toilet, basin, heated towel rail, and complimentary toiletries.
For year-round comfort, the hut is fitted with both air conditioning and heating, along with gas-fired hot water. Wi-Fi and a Bluetooth radio speaker keep you connected, while outdoors you can unwind on the elevated decking, enjoy the enclosed lawn, or spend evenings soaking in the wood-fired hot tub, flip-flops or Crocs recommended for easy access.
