About this property
6 Bed in Southwold (oc-marr)
A traditional three-storey period property in the heart of Southwold, this large, family-friendly cottage has fabulous views over the marshes and the sandy beach. After a day on the sands or strolling around the town, simply relax in the conservatory or the enclosed, split-level garden while the children let off some steam.
This spacious family holiday home on the Suffolk coast is perfect for a self-catering holiday in Southwold. The large sitting room has a welcoming bay window, a TV and DVD player, a music centre and a feature fireplace with an electric fire. The kitchen has all the mod cons you’d need to create masterpieces for a large group, and there’s also an AGA and another electric fire. The utility room doubles up as a playroom for the kids so you can keep an eye on them playing with the toys and games while you’re doing the washing. From here, you have access to the garden through some double doors. The garden is a fully enclosed split-level lawned area, with a BBQ, a terrace with table and chairs, and steps to a patio area. Back in the house, the ground floor is completed by a cloakroom with a WC. The first floor showcases four of the bedrooms. There’s a king-size and a twin, plus a double with a cot, which has connecting doors to a further twin – very convenient for families. These rooms share two washrooms: a bathroom and a shower room. Up on the second floor is where you’ll find the two remaining bedrooms and another shower room. The bedrooms comprise a double and a triple room with three single beds.
In the heart of the Suffolk Heritage Coast, Southwold is one of the prettiest seaside towns you’re likely to find. Of course, there are the colourful beach huts and the iconic pier, but there’s much more than that besides. Visit the lighthouse or pose by the cannons on Gun Hill. Head ever-so-slightly inland and hit the high street which has chic boutiques and independent stores to scratch that retail itch. If your legs aren’t too tired, have a wander through the Southwold’s side streets and hidden lanes – you’ll find plenty of colourful cottages and interesting buildings. Once you’ve built up a thirst, head to Adnams Brewery for a tour and a drink.
