A nice house in a very quiet area
The house is very nice, well-equipped and set in beautiful gardens. The area is very quiet - perhaps a little far from areas of interest in the Dordogne, though you are reasonably close to Perigueux and Bergerac if you need a small town, and there are villages with bakeries etc nearby (Pont St Mamet, Villamblard). For a decent sized supermarket, Vergt is not very far and has a nice Friday market. You really need a car (as mentioned on the listing). We found plenty of things to do in the region, as we know it quite well. It is very easy to access from Bergerac airport if you are flying in. One thing to consider is that unlike most holiday rentals (and many gites), there are basically no cooking materials (salt and pepper, oil, coffee, tea) provided for your arrival - so if you are coming from far away and (by plane) you will be heading straight to the supermarket. If you are coming from far and travelling light, sheets are not provided but can be paid for (as mentioned in the listing description), there are however no towels - so consider bringing them (not so easy on budget airlines). Also there is no WiFi - so don't assume that there is, and the countryside here has quite poor phone network. Overall, a nice place to stay for a quiet holiday - and easier if you are travelling from not so far away and can bring your own cooking supplies and towels.
