The Abbey is approached by a country lane situated 10 mins drive from Azay le Rideau and 20 mins away from the bustling city of Tours. The closest village Saché which is 3 kms away and former home to the illustrious 19th century writer Balzac and contemporary American sculptor Calder has a boulangerie selling fine french bread plus the famous restaurant l’Auberge du 12 siecle There is also a post office , café and small market on Sundays. The "Prieuré de Relay" is easy to found.

Within easy reach are the attractions of the Loire valley: the castles and gardens of the kings of France: Chenonceau, Ussé, Chambord…, the troglodyte houses carved into the famous limestone, canoeing and fishing on the Loire or Indre rivers , the variety of restaurants offering fine French cuisine and of course the many vineyards covering the Touraine landscape. Clos Lucé the residence of Leonardo de Vinci and other leisure places such as the Parc des mini-Châteaux, Aquarium of Touraine, Zoo of Beauval are all reachable in less than 40 minutes.

There are activities for every age range: pony and horse trekking, golf, water skiing, tennis, walking along the numerous paths along the “lily valley” or simply lazing around in the sun in a secluded and tranquil environment.
