Welcome to The Lincoln Log! This rustic little log cabin is a gem! We've completed a major remodel (as of December 2017) and are now adding fun things along the way. Our newest amenities are refrigerated AC which was installed in May 2018 and a hot tub which was installed in June 2018. Although the cabin is a single level property, it is built on the side of the mountain requiring a staircase of seventeen steps to the access the cabin. There is a maximum occupancy of four at The Lincoln Log. We require a minimum of a four-night stay.
No pets, please. No smoking inside the cabin, please.
Here's what the remodel included: new paint throughout, new plank floors throughout, new granite countertops in bathrooms and kitchen, new faucets and hardware in bathrooms, new mattresses and pillows, new linens, new curtains, new decor, new light fixtures, new TVs, new small appliances, new dinnerware, the addition of new furniture, AC and a hot tub.
The Lincoln Log has two-bedrooms. The master has a king-size bed, 32" TV and en suite bathroom with a shower. The second bedroom has a queen-size bed and a 32" TV. The second bathroom has a tub/shower combo. The living room features a wood pellet fireplace, 40" TV, loveseat, and two comfy recliners. The kitchen is fully-equipped: gas range, frig with icemaker, Mr. Coffee drip-style coffeemaker, Keurig, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, hand mixer, dinnerware, silverware, serving dishes, cooking utensils, teapot, pots, pans, ziploc bags, foil, cling wrap, trash bags, paper towels and a few pantry staples (coffee, salt, pepper, sugar and Sweet n Low packets for drinks, cinnamon, garlic powder, onion powder, steak seasoning). The Lincoln Log is also equipped with WiFi and cable.
The relaxing outdoor space includes a wrap-around deck on three sides of the cabin offering gorgeous views of the mountain scenery and wildlife. The hot tub is a favorite on the back deck. Our lot is wooded and has some great boulders to climb on. We love our wildlife visitors which include deer, elk, turkey, fox, coyote, squirrel, raccoon, skunks, and birds. There's always a creature to see! We keep out a water trough as well feed and suet that are appropriate for them. You will enjoy watching them as they visit what we call "The Watering Hole" in our backyard.
The Lincoln Log is centrally located, but secluded in a quiet neighborhood with lots of trees on a dead-end street. No through traffic to disrupt the peace, and the houses are not jammed together which allows for privacy. It takes approximately three minutes to get to Midtown Ruidoso. The road to The Lincoln Log is steep and winding, and the driveway is very steep as well. During winter months, WE STRONGLY ADVISE FOUR-WHEEL DRIVE OR CHAINS, if snow and ice are present. The driveway is a little awkward to navigate so we suggest a two car max.
The Lincoln Log is only a few minutes from the Mid-Town Ruidoso shopping district. It takes about 15-20 minutes to drive to the Ski Apache turnoff in Alto; it's another twelve miles up the mountain to get to the ski resort and driving times vary with weather conditions, traffic and road construction. The Inn of the Mountain Gods is a ten-minute drive from the cabin.
Check in time is 4:00 pm Mountain Time; check out is 10:00 am Mountain Time. However, we are often able to offer an early check in (noon) and/or a late check out (noon) depending on our reservation schedule.
