From Holiday Guests to Proud Owners of Villa Zawadi

What started as an unforgettable holiday in Zandspruit turned into something truly special — our journey from guests to the proud owners of Villa Zawadi.

During our very first visit to South Africa, we fell in love with its breathtaking nature, the purity and kindness of its people, and the incredible wildlife that surrounds you at every turn. It didn’t take long for us to realize that this experience felt like a gift — something we wanted to share with others. That’s why we named our home Zawadi, meaning “gift” in Swahili — a perfect reflection of what this place represents to us.

Together with interior designer Gera Brand, we aimed to create a four-star experience that blends contemporary comfort with authentic African charm. Each space has been designed with care — surprising color combinations, unique art pieces, and warm natural textures welcome you the moment you step inside.

The bedrooms are decorated with artistic elements inspired by the bushveld, giving you the feeling of sleeping right in the heart of nature — all while enjoying the comfort of luxurious boxspring beds.

Every detail was chosen to ensure your stay is as relaxing as possible. The living room fireplace and air conditioning in all bedrooms make Villa Zawadi an ideal retreat all year round, even during the cooler South African winter months.

A fully equipped kitchen and utility room include everything you might need — from modern appliances to a wine cooler that keeps your sundowner perfectly chilled. The kitchen terrace is the perfect spot to enjoy breakfast in the morning sun.

The spacious, partly covered patio connects the living area and bedrooms and features a large dining table — ideal for meals prepared by a private chef, one of the highly recommended experiences offered by Homes of Africa.

Prefer to cook yourself? The outdoor braai area lets you experience this beloved South African tradition firsthand. Later, gather around the boma firepit under the stars — an unforgettable way to end the day in true bush style.

Relax in the cozy lounge area while taking in sweeping views of the surrounding bush. You might even spot some passing wildlife! Let the sounds of nature accompany your evening as you unwind with a drink in hand.
